Still No Answers on Daughters Tummy...
Well the sonagram didn't show any issues with her insides, urine still has red, white blood cells and protein but no infection. She complains of tummy aches every day. No signs of a bleeding ulcer. They took a few biopsies. Should know something in a day or so. If nothing presents then she will have a lower GI done.
I asked her to tell me what sort of animal is the pain like. She said if was a fire breathing dragon with a spikey tail. Good to know. Here she is before and after her upper GI. When she finally woke up she looked at her IV and then to the IV bag and asked me "Daddy, is that bag making me feel this way?" "Yes honey, it is." I said "Daddy, I want that bag. Can we take it home?" She replied "No sweety. That stays here." "But Daddy, its a good thing and I really want it!" I looked over at Mommy and said "I think she has my genes! We are gonna have to keep an eye on this one." Before - reading one of here fav mags... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1301935404.jpg After a long hour of gut work and the goofy juice! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1301935470.jpg |
I hate it when the kids get sick....Our little one ended up with Pseudomonas which is not good in little ones. Had a pic line put in and had to do the meds all night for a few weeks. Never had a problem since....Its those high fevers of 105 that scare the carp out of me!

Good luck. Hopefully, it's something easy and minor once they figure out what it is.
|
Hope all is well and you find out what the issue is...

Hang in there, guys!!
They'll figure it out. My kids have been sick for the past 6 months(or so it seems). Ear infections, strep throat, colds, sinus infections, tummy problems. Nothing serious, thank goodness but man it never ends. Tell your little one we are thinking of her and sending good thoughts to Texas. |
Good luck, Mike!

Last three people I talked to with mystery gut pain (including myself) turned out to have celiac disease. Pretty simple blood test for it. The upper endo should reveal it too if present.
Just a suggestion--docs seem to overlook this one a lot. Hope your little girl feels better soon. Seeing a kid in pain is like a kick in the balls. :( |
All the best - heres hoping she gets better soon!

Looks like an angel...
Sayin a prayer for her and yall. |

Who is the douche that rated this thread one star?
Best of luck to the little angel. |
I hope she gets well soon.

I hate to see anyone in a hospital bed, here's hoping she's back home soon.

Thanks guys. She is doing pretty good. She had a great weekend - played three soccer games as Keeper and midfield and did fantastic. She gave me her angel eye to let her stay up and watch the UConn Buthead game tonight. She has my Connecticut T shirt on - very sweet.
Thanks for the kind words. |
It was not the stuff in the bag, it was the stuff they pushed into the line.
Sick kids are rough, especially if they are not somebody else's. I usually push the fluids with sick kids on general principle. Sounds like she could not be too bad if she played three games. When something is infected and smells sort of sweet, green and nasty, but sweetish, bet Pseudamonas aeruginosa. Nasty critter, film forming, which means it makes itself a little goo sweater that hinders your body's attack of it. Pretty much nasty as all get out IV antibiotics to treat it for the most part, sort of stuff that makes you deaf or makes your kidneys want to jump out of your body. Cipro works on it sometimes, but it tends to develop resistance. I don't think anybody had a chance against U Conn this year |
Maybe I have missed a chapter in your daughters illness history, Lube. Is it correct then, that the only positive find so far are cells and protein in the urine? Have they ran any more tests of the urine? Looking for signs of glomerulonephritis? I suppose the ultrasound of the belly included scanning the kidneys? What about blood samples? Any positive finds?

Tough little critter for sure.... Hopefully its not that.... On a random tangent... It scares me how many of these ugly critters we culture in micro lab.... Mike, hope the wee one gets to feeling better, let us know if there is anything we can do to help! |
Markus, the kidneys looked fine and the blood work was not remarkable. She complains of tummy aches almost every day with no relation to diet, exercise or time.
|
With Pseudamonas aeruginosa our little one kept getting kidney infections and in pain, it was detected with a urine test. While at home the Doctor himself called which is never a good sign and said I already have a room at the hospital and they are expecting you. Talk about some scared parents...
|
Wow, thats a call I never want to have. She didn't have any sign of infections.
