When I was living overseas (Germany this time) I was watching one of the PBS shows from the UK on the satellite. They ended up showing a full uncensored video from one of their teams who witnessed a female circumcision.

For those who do not know, this is done to every female in many parts of Africa. This is done so that they cannot enjoy sex, ie they are simply a baby factory and its thought that it "keeps them from straying," which is sick.

I have to tell you that it almost sickened me. Three older women held down this 14-15 year old girl while another went at this young girls clit with a knife. The screaming, blood squirting everywhere and so on was very graphic and not for the faint of heart. For me what was the worst part was that this was done by her fellow women of the tribe, but guessing that its better that they did it than the men.

Some day hopefully these people will stop doing things that were recommended in the 1500's and progress in their lives. I am guessing that there might be a video of this on YouTube but not sure. I do not want to see it again, once was enough.

Wow, I am at a loss for words. I have heard of atrocities like that, but can only imagine what you felt actually seeing it. I am guessing the PBS show was to educate others as to what is going on and to hopefully put an end to it happening anymore.

The sad thing is that one, they are still doing it today, and two the liberals around this great country feel that videos like this are "too harsh" to be shown to everyone and thus people do not see just what really happens.

This video was shot I believe by a German video crew and aired on a UK PBS channel. At least the Europeans have the balls to show things like this. If it ever aired here in the states and was not censored it sure would change a lot of people's views on life in Africa.
