While the base Super Snake will produce a mere 750 horsepower, those who feel the need for more power will be able to add an optional upgrade package that will provide 50 more. Shelby provides no warranty on the engine and transmission, in either case.
Um, ok.

I've heard it is too much in a street car... How in the hell will you get street tires to hook up with that kind of HP?

Pointless IMHO... Unless you are compensating for a lack of something....

Won't be your problem with your car, right?

Of course...now here's barely adequate power in a "slightly" modded Bullitt...Brenspeed 5.0 engine, blown of course.

I was merely commenting with my opinion of 800hp, pointless in any car.... If Paul isn't grown up enough to ignore it that is his problem

I watched a Shelby GT500 (modded with aftermarket supercharger) put down 684hp at the wheels at a dyno day a week ago. They stuffed 3 guys in the back seat and two sat in the rear trunk to weigh it down in an effort to minimize wheel spin and get an accurate reading.

And yes, the mutual hard-on between these two requires the intimacy afforded by a room.

911s seem to hang on pretty well when making crazy hp. That motor dangling out of the back end is good for traction and weight transfer.

Beat me to it...

Generally speaking, I'm not a fan of "huffer" motors for on the street...All other things equal, they don't enjoy the longer life of normally aspirated.

800 hp adequate for what? I have never met anyone anyplace who said, "I wish it had a little less power."

Loren builds a 911 w/840hp. It's fast and seems to have no problem hooking up. I've seen it run at Willow.

You have no idea what you're talking about.

High HP (1000+) quarter mile street cars have been prowling the streets for decades. Grand Nationals are but one specific model that can easily build that kind of power and still run on pump gas. My neighbor had a 30psi boost Supra Turbo that ran a 10.50, so that one was definitely in the 700+ hp range easily.

And yes, these cars hook up and run in the 10s or better.

1000hp Grand National dyno run:

Maybe if you leave Oklahoma sometime, you'll see some of these things.
