Question Tennesse TRIP ? ?

Hey Guys, my wife and I will be taking a trip from Louisiana to visit the Great Smoky mountains at the end of the Month and I was wondering if any of you knew of any Cool places to visit related to Porsche. I.E. from Musuems to Junk Yards.. cars for sale.

Also, if you have any other tips of cool Driving Areas as we'll be staying in Gattlinburg.. We have already mapped out the Tail of the Dragon as a Visit.

... Note: We wont be in our Early 911 this time..

you could hit up some race tracks on the way - not really 911 oriented, but...

for driving, the Natchez Trace (used to be) = wonderful

Its still a pretty drive.

This place is in Nashville... Lane Motor Museum- Nashville, TN they have a pretty unusual collection of cars worth the stop (in my opinion).

Be very careful of your speed on the Natchez Trace. It is patroled by FEDERAL officers and 1 mph over can get you a ticket and a commercial vehicle tag is a big no-no.

yes, it is part of the National Park System -- and they are serious about that

so, slow down and enjoy the scenery

The dragons tail takes a big toll on motorcycles. Some try to see how fast they can go and realize too late-I'm going too fast for this turn. One got killed last time I was up that way.

The Tail of the Dragon is amazing! I did it 2 years ago in my MazdaSpeed3. I highly recommend staying in Townsend, TN (nice small town) and enjoy the twisty roads!

We love the whole area, I hope you enjoy your trip. Floyd Garrett's Muscle Car Museum in Pidgion Forge is nice if you're into that kind of car.

There are many, many great driving roads here in Tennessee. You might consider taking hwy 70 from I-40 (exit 239a) and drive thru the backroads until you hit Rockwood, Tennessee. The drive is gorgeous with some nice curves. It's highway 70 and you'll pass Center Hill Lake (Al Gore has a huge houseboat there, not that it matters).

Here is a google map link:

55mph speed limit, 2-lane road through pine trees...cute, but gets boring really quick
