Laptop hard drive hook up?

I have an extra internal HD for my laptop. Is there a dock or cable you can buy so I can hook it up to the usb port. I would like to use it to store a bunch of old junk.

Thanks

Yes, thay are available and very cheap. Just verify what type of interface your HD has. Is is ATA or Serial ATA? We bought two of the enclosures of 6 bucks each from Amazon.

Several options.

You can get a USB case to drop it in. Advantage is it's protected and portable.

The dock type adaptors. Advantage is you can swap drives quickly and it's still relatively protected.

The cable type adaptors. Advantage is they will generally accommodate SATA and IDE in both 2.5 and 3.5 sizes. They will be the most versatile.

That's e-sata it's very easy, and very fast since it's directly coupled to the SATA controller. And nice laptop BTW.

e-sata = 6gb/sec
USB = 480mb/sec
F-wire4 = 400mb/sec

So you can see that e-sata is very nice thing to have on a laptop.
