Spent the last 3 hours sitting on the toilet!

Not doing what you might think........

We've been under tornado warning all evening, sirens are screaming, and the only "safe" room with no outer walls is the master bathroom w/c.
Storms have hit all day, but these tonight were viscous. Tornado touched down very close and then went back up just as it went over our house. Lots of damage nearby, a church destroyed, many injuries.
More storms later tonight and tomorrow....

STOP!!!!!

Glad you're OK.
The weather in the American Midwest for the last 6 months has be extraordinary. I've never experienced such extremes and prolonged periods of bad weather. It has become so bad that it is going to effect the economy over the next year. Farm fields that normally have corn sprouting now are too wet to plow and will remain too wet for another couple of weeks. Corn prices are going to go up and soybeans and sunflowers will probably go down (farmers tend to switch to short season crops if their corn planting is late). Overall farm yields are going to be down, which is REALLY bad at a time when food has taken a bigger role in our exports.

Thanks guys.......We're OK so far.....wifey and Dachshund "Speedster" are scared. It has been scary, I admit. The sound of the warning sirens alone are enough to get to you. I think it's gonna be a sleepless night.

Just heard reports cars and trucks blown off I40 and we are only a couple miles away. One small town completely destroyed.

I wish I would have taken the picture of my wife sitting in our bath tub wearing my autocross helmet holding her purse and both of our Daschunds. She would have shot me but it might have been worth it.

That happened several years ago.

Stay safe!

This certainly has been a corker of a tornado season...

Not sure where you are but the Mid West as well as Tejas and OK have seen there share of Wall Clouds and Twisters in the past 24 hours.

The upside - you have internet!

Power just came back on, turned on the TV and the Weather Channel has a truck reporting from little rock. Says more maybe even worse on the way tomorrow.

i am glad you are ok.

having dealt with tornadoes in kentucky and kansas, i'll go with tornadoes. i am really scared of earthquakes. i am seriously concerned about the inevitable earthquake here in utah.

Rough night. Seven confirmed deaths and dozens missing. Lots of damage.

We're OK.

I love our basement! When a tornado threatens, we head down to the "man cave" (basement) and wait out the storm. I always feel bad for those without a basement during a tornado...
