South of me tonight so maybe I can get some sleep.

No tornado sirens in my immediate area so I suscribe to an automated severe weather alert service.

Phones been ringing every couple of hours.

I feel for you in Herrin. The place is a swamp on a good day. I can't image what the area around the old Norge plant is like now.

Are you down by Cairo or Metropolis?

Chris, I'm about 15 miles north of the I-57 and I-24 split. 60 miles to Cairo, and about 45 to Metropolis.

Patrick, it's probably about the driest place in town. Now that the plant's closed, the house there have gone up in value, and people are spending money on them. That is the ones that the Herrin Hospital isn't buying up, bulldozing, and turning into parking lots.

James, I would if I could. Yesterday marked the one week mark of constant rain. last i heard we had gotten around 10 inches of rain. They are talking about blowing up a levee to try to save Cairo's levee from breaching. I can completely understand the Chinese Water Torture now. The constant dripping almost drove me nuts the other night.
