If the Prius is anything like the honda hybrids, it is very hard not to stare at the MPG and battery charge/drain displays. I'm often guilty of it myself when I drive my parents Honda Insight. Trying to maximize mileage or get the battery fully charged is almost like a game.

If i was driving a prius, i would go out of my way to see how bad of mileage i can get in it if i drive like a nut. :D

In my parents Insight, the worst average mileage I could get was just above 40mpg. But it is more than a thousand pounds lighter than a new prius.

I've noticed that people driving Priuses look down their nose at me at stoplights. My 928 gets 11 mpg.

I look down my nose at them in the rear view mirror when the light changes. I want to put this sticker on the back of my 928:

"Happily burning the gasoline your silly Prius is saving!"

N!

I actually saw a license plate last week that read: PIOUS

But it was night and I was walking the dog before bed, so I wasn't motivated enough to go back and snap a pic.

I tell my none car person pal his prius gets such greats MPG cause its deriving 1/2 its chemical energy burning his dignity away.

Top Gear did just that. I think May was in the Prius, driving it hell-bent-for-election, all it had, around their test track. Clarkson's only mission was to keep up in some M-series BMW. Clarkson was falling asleep, and the BMW got better milage.

In other words, if you drive your Prius with any sort of effort to keep up with the normal flow of traffic, most cars around you get better milage. They only meet their targets when they are holding everyone else up.

I get stuck behind "that guy" periodically. It gives me untold pleasure to give these ass hats a little bit of carbon-centric "MFI lovin'" on the way by. Make their hair smell like gas whenever they get where they are going...

Yep, classic. One of the guys drove the prius balls to the wall on the track while another just kept up in an M3. The M3 got better mileage in the end.

OK, I know that everyone is tired of Paul and his mustang, and I think this is funny.

But damn, the 300hp 30+mpg 6cyl! I think that's pretty cool. The GT that's faster AROUND A TRACK than the M3, and the Boss 302 Laguna Seca (with the horrible red accents). They are very impressive vehicles.

Honestly, I think the previous gen of mustang was more attractive than the newest. I don't like the new front end or new tail lights. The only upside to the newest edition, IMO, is the performance (hard to argue with) and the fact that they put a little hip at the top of the rear quarterpanels.

+1

My friend has a 2010 GT in blue with black stripes. It looks much better than the newer version IMO. One heck of a fun car to drive and sounds great too.

I took my RX7 out for some exercise one Saturday afternoon.

I was at a light and decided to give it about 30% and let it stretch a little. As the light turned green I was surprised to see a Toyota Sienna pulling me, I looked over the the dude driving was looking over at me, sort of jubilantly as he got the advantage.... I thought for a moment, his IS is a minivan, maybe I should let him have a happy moment.... nah, I dropped the hammer in second gear, and pulled away from him while going sideways as the rear tires gave up on traction and just smoked up the place, instantly I was several buses in front of the poor guy.

I really think a lot of these Prius type kills are the product of the other driver not being aware that they are even in the race. Happens all the time on the Boulevard here in Philly.

m21sniper 04-30-2011 04:52 PM

It certainly does Tim.
