When such is the case, I carry 9x19 (typically a Kahr MK9). Admittedly "less than optimum" in Col. Cooper's view but still acceptable. All of the peashooters in the collection are assigned to BUG duty.

My personal philosophy is that one should carry whenever feasible. Carrying when you expect trouble only means you'll find trouble when you're not expecting it. If you're expecting trouble, why enter the situation at all?

I DO respect your personal philosophy BlueSky, and I truly don't have a problem with anyone that chooses to carry...I just don't live my life that way. I've been in a few "dicey situations" during my lifetime, where "carrying" wouldn't have helped, but "thinking" sure did! I noticed from an earlier post that we're both "lefties"...now you're gonna make me go check out the CBOB, and I know anthing from Dan Wesson is worthy :). Be well...

I really enjoy shooting my DW CBOB. Sadly DW recently jacked their prices up 50%+. What used to be an outstanding buy at ~$900 is now an average one at ~$1500. That's approaching custom spoon territory.

The only modification I made on mine is a King's style ambi safety. I can't manage the standard "righty" single sided safety with my left hand. Some people can, but I'm differently-abled that way. :D

I'm a professional coward. Any opportunity to avoid or de-escalate is worth taking, IMHO.

I just added that NEBO light to my kit. Excellent tip Sniper. Tks.

I've bought like a dozen of the things so far. Give them to girls i date, and also gave them to all the female members of my family.

Even pacifists will accept a flashlight as a gift, and see the utility of carrying such a tool. ;)
