Need a new roof
Help. I need to replace a flat roof on a commercial building in Los Angeles. Anyone have a good personal recommendation?
thanks, Sherwood |

A white roofing material such as that made by Carlisle will lower your cooling loads over a black roof.
Carlisle SynTec single-ply membrane roofing systems and materials for the commercial and industrial roofing industry. Carlisle SynTec EPDM Roofing Systems ![]() I don't know if there are tax credits for "green roofs" or adding insulation in your area, but something to consider if everything is on the table. Some roofing materials breakdown when exposed to restaurant hood exhaust with cooking oil in it. Do you have any special considerations like that?

Nope. Upper floor is residential with a typical kitchen vent, but in a commercial area/building. I emailed them asking for local roofing contractors. We'll see.
thanks |

white membrane roofs are der schnizzle right now, but if you have roll roofing with sprinkles the cheap way to go is to just get somebody to fix it
apparently the fixes eventually give out (tho not like on a shingle roof) and you eventually need a new roof I'm still trying to figure out the options and adv.s of each - also not sure if I can get any tax breaks on it - check & see if Calif. will help you out. A non-cheap way to cut a/c loads in the bldg. is to put up solar panels - they get you a nice subsidy, provide some power & block that nasty ol' SoCal sun. non-cheap b/c of the installation cost; tho you could look into a rental setup |

you could also look at a white foam roof, they are reflective and seamless = no leaks
