No Guns No Weed...
The Illinois House rejected the concealed carry proposal today. The bill came close with 65 of the 71 votes needed to pass. Governor Quinn has stated he would veto the bill if it had managed to pass anyway. The Illinois house also rejected the use of medical marijuana to relive suffering for specific diseases. Here in Illinois we won't stand for gun toting weed heads. Of course our Gov and Mayor NEED their bodyguards...and maybe a little weed as well.

I feel sorry for you guys, but if the productive, law-abiding citizens moved away, you wouldn't have to worry about such BS. Life is good in AZ.

Life is pretty good in Pa too. And it's warmer here. Rock solid gun rights state.
Great, great hunting state if you're into that sort of thing. |

It's just a matter of time. People are starting to realize that the other 48 states can't all be wrong.

According to the guys working on the bill, the bill is in a holding pattern (postponed consideration) and can be modified and brought back for vote anytime until the second Wednesday of 2013.
One can hope, but right now, I'd rather Quinn and the rats like him who are running the goverment in Illinois get voted out next election. Illinois politics is too crooked...thanks to the Chicago Machine. The whole state is held prisioner to what Chicago wants.... |

heres something i learned from my boss re: med weed license. since the state bill allowing med weed people are lining up. stores being opened blah blah.
on the federal side of things think about this. what does the fed spoon form state? have you ever used are you addicted to the demon weed. a YES answer here is NOT GOOD for firearms purchases. and if you LIE while having a med weed license you have now PERJURED yerself on a federal level involving spoons. real bad fed ju ju. and...................if yer a pilot with a pilots license, and you get a med weed license once again on a federal level, you have PERJURED yerself and its once again bad FED JU JU against you. i assure you there are going to be some interesting cases on this as nobody has really figured out all the ramifications of med weed. me ? i could care either way. i feel its pretty damn stoopid to incarcerate some 20 year old for a bag of weed let alone a single (1) seed being a FELONY!

I think the 4473 asks if you are an illegal user of MJ.

The CCW needed 61 votes to pass. It needed 71 to override Quinn's veto.
The thing that I heard was that the Dems in "the rest of the state" (not Chicago) wanted CCW in return for voting for Quinn's tax increase. Right now, they feel stupid and betrayed for helping Quinn get what he wanted. I expect that he won't get any more such help from "the rest of the state".

theres the catch rick. its on the fed side that ownership of a spoon or a pilots license and i am sure of a commercial drivers license bus train etc is NEGATED if you answer yes on the federal firearms form.
you can bet yer azz there will be a database produced on this, if anyone is granted a MJ license. it may be otay to have MJ on a state level, but when it comes to spoons and interstate travel................the feds got cha. lots of hoopla about this here now. but come on the laws here are just plain stoopid for a having (1) seed and the yearly inmate incarceration costs for a class 4- 6 felony approaching 40K a year in our tax dollars. theres a BIG difference btwn dealing /traffic of say 200 pounds or so. hell poss of MJ in kalif is a traffic ticket. in alaska you can have up to 2.2 pounds of the crap for personal use in possession. the funniest story i ever heard was back when i was 18 working at garrett, my boss then was from IOWA(ioway) and they used to grow 1000's of acres of hemp during wwII for the war effort. he said that they smoked that crap ONCE and gave them such a headache they never tried it again! LOL! and i know colorado is fairly loose as well as oregon and washington. its a real headache for ALL INVOLVED with lots if lil loopholes and "GOT-CHA'S" every where ya turn. im just glad I dont have to worry a NARY about it. im sure this will go to every sector of the work place. doctors lawyers, cops fireman, ambulance, any public sector job and taxis and truck drivers and on and on. will be interesting to see where this all lands 5 years from now.

I stand corrected. In order to override the Governor's threatened veto of HB:148 a super-majority is needed. This requires 71 House votes and 36 Senate votes. Super-majority's are needed for laws that limit regulatory powers of local municipalities like Chicago.
