My lady graduated from college today.
Quite an achievement for her. She went back to school part time 8 years ago. Managed to pull it all off with a 3.86, all the while working full time, raising a child, taking care of her ill father for 3 years, and putting up with me.
Her boss paid for all of her education, and allowed her the flexibility to leave work to take some classes that were only offered during the day. He came to the ceremonies today as well. He is a good guy. I gotta say, I was all swelled up with pride for her, but my arse hurts after sitting through a 5 hour ceremony on a wooden bench. This is one task that I could never complete. I did a couple of semesters and quickly realized that I was done with school and ready to go to work.

Excellent! Please offer congrats. What she accomplished is no small feat.
The ceremonies can be tough, but I'm sure your happiness more than made up for it. With her determination (and Dad).....:>)... the sky is the limit. Did you buy her dinner yet?? HA Karl 88 Targa |

Congrats!
My wife has gone back to get her BSN after 30 years as an RN in an ICU and as a Director of an ICU. |

fastfred: congrats to your wife...strong work!! I hope her degree allows her to advance in her work.
A930: I'd bet there is no BS'ing your wife. 30 yrs in an ICU will battle-harden most. Middle management in health care will take care of the rest. Congratsto her as well. I'd be interested to read if she thinks a BSN made her a better RN. |

Sorry to go off topic Fred.
Pavulon, to date she says her classes make no difference after 30 years. She's seen and done it all. It's something she's always wanted though and it can help her in other ways at work. Quote:
