Avon's "skin so soft" hand lotion has been doing this for decades.

And before you pile on with the ghey comments it was discovered by oil riggers in Alaska and really does work... if you can get past the name.

yep, it works and doesn't have DEET in it.

Also, taking a maximum daily dose of Vitamin B12 is a pretty good repellant.

The B12 smell in your sweat is not attractive to mosquitos.

It's pretty rare when I run into them, but I "have" been planning on putting some in the boat for over 20 years. I'm not one to procastinate, just never think of the stuff 'til it's too late .

ps: Do they even sell Avon stuff anywhere...I remember it from when I was a kid, and my mom used to buy from "Avon ladies".

I was stuck one summer years ago working in the engineering office at Syncude (Athabasca Tar Sands) where the mosquitoes are quite large & voracious as hell. After a couple of bite filled days I was informed that this stuff was the 'magic bullet'. It was quite a relief from the feeling of being 'eaten alive'.

I am pretty sure that they sell a generic form of it in some grocery stores and the big box department stores like Target,etc. It is available online at Amazon.

We have a lot of bats around our neighborhood that keep the mosquito population to a minimum in our yard.
