Facebook jumped the shark?
 

It seems a lot less people are posting these days. I'm down to checking it about every other week.

Thoughts?

Never been more popular with the people I use it with.

Mainly photos- lots of people having kids, getting married, etc.. all shared on facebook.

Keeps friends who I would normally never see since I've moved to CA close & helps plan get togethers and such.

I don't think anything is going to replace it any time soon

But we all have different narratives...

I tried to tell folks that last Fall. It was whored out -- taken over by game companies and businesses jumping in on the "next big thing" 3 years too late.

My company is in social media, but our business plan is based on the medium that has loyalty, engagement and staying power: forums like this one.

That kind of loses its impact when you post it on an OT forum on an automobile website.

Never joined either. No upside, lots of potential downside as I see it.

So I guess Facebook has been thrown under the bus?

I would say it threw itself under the bus.

I signed up. Looked around and deleted the account all in 5 minutes.

what happened to FB? I use it regularily to check on my kids postings and such..

I quite checking when the whole Wisconsin Union protest thing was in its heyday. I had 2 friends which were very pro-Union who would, and still do, post about 10 times a day about the shameful Republicans blah blah blah. I being on the "other" side could not stomach the BS day in and day out. I deleted one "friend" and ignore the other.

I joined when my friends all told me that they keep in touch that way. I still don't understand it, and don't get the "like" thing. Or how to post where you are at any given moment. I must be getting old.
