1957 Silvertone Archtop Acoustic, what do you all know?

Scored this today along with some Tele parts I picked up. The guy told me to just take it and that it was a 1957 model.

I dont know anything about these. It's in pretty good shape, considering the age. Neck is straight, the tuners need to be soaked in lubricant for a while. Looks like there used to be a pickguard on it at one time.

It sounds halfway decent and could probably shine up pretty well. Maybe I'll throw a neck pickup on it.

Anyone have any info on these? I'll get some pics later.

Yes! Harmony, Danelectro, Teisco all made "Silvertones"....Used to have one with the "amp in the case"....Strange little axes, many folks collect 'em.

Beck, G-Love and David Lindley all record with old Silvertones. Great guitars, a lot have the "steel reinforced neck". Play the hell out of it.

Here's a few pics. It's got a nice burst on it. Just need to find the pickguard for it.
