My wife has the Sony. I have the Kindle. They are both nice.

Kindle you purchase books and they are delivered wirelessly, immediately. It is very cool. Sony you have to go to a computer, download the books on the computer and then transfer them to your eReader, not as cool.

Sony has access to the library. Kindle not so much (can be mod'd to do so). Popular books are not immediately available in the library. Access to the library means free books, very cool.

I personally like my Kindle, I have purchased about $10.00 worth of books for it. Most of what I have has come off public domain.

That we become connected through our own timeline with the books on our shelves.

Not to mention that it's difficult for the author to autograph a kindle...

Looked at the color Nook yesterday. Possibly my favorite Android based device to date.

But the net connectivity may be an issue for me.

My kids computers are in the family room where we can monitor activity.

The portable aspect of the color Nook bothers me.

It also does not support individual user accounts so if I lock out functionality it's for all users.

They did have one fully functional demo of the new black and white unit.

That's a really slick little piece of kit.
