If we tell you the side effects, you will develop them...

In that case, only mention the good side effects.
Not the Russian poetry. |

Been on prilosec for over a decade.
It seems to cause me "rebound" issues if I stop or forget more than a day. Never in my life did I have heartburn until I forgot a few pills after years on the stuff for other reasons (esophageal strictures). Holy wah heartburn sucks! There is supposedly a vitamin deficiency issue - but I forgot which one. Could be the memory vitamin. All in all, I'm very happy with the purple pill. Nexium was better w.r.t. rebound but my HMO decided I didn't need the expensive pill (yay!) and could get by with OTC.

By (yay!) I mean "Thanks for letting me get by with the OTC that _I_ pay for instead of the prescription that _they_ pay for". Jerks...

Usually happens when I fill the 911 at the pump. Better than "explosive diarrhea" or "anal leakage".

The only side effect I've had is the suppurating pustules - no, not on me, I mean the PR idiots at my insurance company. They sent me an insulting letter telling me how much better they were serving me now by making me pay for OTC PPIs instead of them paying for a prescription version. They think they can pee on my head and tell me it's raining - that I'm too stupid to understand that they did it only to push more of the cost of health care off of them and on to me.
Other than than, no side effects.
