Classic, Rock & Roll songs

I was just listening to the Stones, And "Street Fighting Man" came on.
That's got to be a true Classic Rock song. Do you agree??
It's not really a favoite, But it does jump out at me when I hear it.

Do younger people even listen to this stuff??

Name some more Classics

Define younger? Lets put this way those younger than me probably don't (I'm in my 20s). I occasionally listen to the Stones, the Beatles, the Beach Boys and other 60s bands. I can't stand 70s disco stuff though.

Well, People that didn't grow up with this vintage music.
Maybe I like it because I grew up with it. How does it sound to younger ears

I love the music but mostly because I love classics and can't stand most of the stuff on the radio these days. Its always morning talk radio on the way in and talk radio on the way home. When are radio stations going to realize that most people listen to the radio to listen to music. I am constantly reliving the 80s with the CDs I have in the car.

hehe. most of the "serious" rock comes from the 70s. how about Bohemian Rhapsody? (o.k. that was a cheap shot) how about I name some albums in general instead of just songs. we'll start with P.F.'s DSOTM? or perhaps S-tramp's COTC? A-smith's Rocks? ACDC DDDDC and HTH?

(abbreviations done on purpose )

Dyed in the wool Rush fan - ever since I was old enough to turn on a radio on my own.. Just saw the 30 Year (R30) anniversary show here, unbelievable that they're still THAT good!

hell yeah! a friend of mine showed me the live in Brazil DVD (don't remember the name) last Christmas. absolutely freaking amazing! Alex didn't mis-lay one hand, much less a finger, during the entire show. and I had no idea that they were that popular down there

disco rocks.

When I saw the Stones in '83, they opened with SFM. Rocked the joint. Plenty of classics by the Stones: Brown Sugar, Sympathy for the Devil, Jumpin' Jack Flash, Miss You (see the disco rocks comment), Before They Make Me Run, ...

Too many classics to list. My 7 year old can sing a lot of them though.

We could dedicate a whole thread to Stones classics. Here are some more:

Give me Shelter, Heartbreaker, Honky Tonk Woman, Mother's Little Helper, Black....

Led Zepplin I had some great stuff
Hendrix is timeless.
AC/DC has made the same album close to 20 times now, I never get tired of their stuff
Cliff burton era Metallica stuff is classic
The Misfits

I'm 29. When I was in my late teens I listened to the Doors a lot (BEFORE they made the movie). Also other 60s/early 70s classics.

I skipped the 70s really (partial to Led Zepp though) and jumped straight to Nirvana and Metallica. Haven't really moved much. Pretty sad given Cobain's been dead for a decade. Last album I bought AND enjoyed? Couldn't say because it has been a while.

Yeah, I think I went to their farewell tour... about 25 years ago.

Amazing how "Won't Get Fooled Again" seems appropriate every election year, eh?
