That's total BS. 93 octane won't damage anything, but with its higher flash point it may not perform as well as the fuel the manufacturer calls for.

Fuel problem. Make sure you drain the Stil between each use and store it bone dry in the fuel. Do you have any access to alcohol free fuel?
What is too much noise in girlfriend? I am not sure I have ever encountered that as a specific issue. I knew one with whom you could guage your actions based solely on the decible levels created. Don't think the neighbors ever complained but I know they listened... Review manual and check your status. More decibles could equal more studly!

Hey-
Listen, I did some research on this today. Guess what? It seems that the government has mandated that carburetors on 2-stroke engines be made difficult to adjust. This has been accomplished by shaping the adjustments specifically, so that the average consumer cannot "molest" them. They require a special tool. There are several- one called a "spline", a "D", a "double D", and then there is the one that I've described.....the "Pac-man" tool. Here's a link to a forum: Handyman WIRE - Handyman USA : Homelite 42cc Chainsaw Tuning If you go online, it is relatively easy to purchase this tool. I found one one eBay for $18. So much for that little problem! I know what I'm doing when I get home next week... Good luck! N Last edited by Normy; 06-10-2011 at 05:15 PM.. |
