Questions about growing pumpkins
So I bought some giant pumpkin seeds to grow with the kid. We've got sprouts, and now I'm contemplating my options for where to plant them.
I know they need lots of sun, water and space Will they do ok on a steep hillside? I would like to grow a couple really big ones. It sounds like the you do this by removing all the other fruit, and have a single pumpkin on the vine. Any thoughts about preventing rot, pests I might have to deal with? Any advice appreciated. |

If it is a giant pumpkin you want to do that on a FLAT piece of ground. A small one can weigh several hindered pounds. You don't want some kids rolling it down the hill when it weighs that much.
Plant it somewhere where there is access to it with a fork lift or at least a pickup. You don't want a 400 lb rotting pumpkin just sitting there.
