Dallas defeats Miami. Where's your crown, King Nothing?
Congrats to Dallas, Dirk, Jason & Jason. The better team won.
And best of all, "King" James has been exposed as a terrible player in the clutch this whole series. |

Trying to get it done the easy way, inside only, down the stretch, won't get it done.

It's going to be hard for the chosen one to argue that he can't do it by himself. That he needs some help. I don't think he could do it even if he had Chris Paul, Dwight Howard and Kevin Durant!
And how ridiculous does that "Welcome to Miami" celebration look right about now?

I know lots of folks who were rooting against Miami just because of how James dumped cleveland to be on a "good" team.
It seemed like Miami tried to BUY the championship. I was kind of split, I like most of the players on the mavericks but I don't particularly care for that arrogant midg.... uh I mean "little person" that owns the team. |

though the midg did something classy, having the trophy presented to the original owner of the team (the old guy with the cowboy hat).

I was pulling for Dallas... and gald they won.
But Miami sucks? Are you guys kidding me? Were we watching the same games? These were the best playoffs in a long time.

Nobody said they sucked. But they did lose three in a row, they choked away a 15 point lead with 7 minutes to play when Wade held that gooseneck in game 2, they tried to clown Dirk making fun of his flu-like symptoms and it back-fired, they got beat on their home court by 10 in game 6, LeBron disappeared in the 4th quarter etc.
I would say they didn't play their best ball when it mattered most, rather than they sucked. Obviously, they'll be the team to beat come next year.

Lets all get our shots in now. I have a feeling Miami is going to be doing the victory shuffle a number of times over the next 5 to 7.
Dallas played out of their minds good. It was definitely their time. I think coaching was huge in this series.

I bet LA will be making some moves as well and they can never be counted out with Kobe on the roster. Speaking of which, LBJ can no longer be mentioned in the same sentence as Kobe or MJ. As far as coaching, Spoelstra sucks as a coach, IMO. |

So sad that we don't get to see those three brain surgeons marching out of the dark to flashing strobes low-five-in each other ain't it?

Take it easy ladies. Anyone out there related to the winners or the losers or had a stake in Cleveland or any prize money? If not, let's move on. The best two teams were playing, and the best teamplay won, the second best didn't. BTW, I didn't see the Spurs, the Lakers or any other team on TV lately, did you? Would you have preferred to watch a replay of the Mavericks owning the Lakers 4-0? The Lakers, Bulls or Spurs aren't exactly chopped liver and they're all on a longer vacation than expected.
In the end, it's just a game. There's always next year. I understand the passion and the hatred, but take a deep breathe and move onto the NHL playoffs if you must root for another playoff series. And not a word about Jensen Button's last lap pass of Vetel and his come-from-behind victory at Montreal? Geez. Sherwood Last edited by 911pcars; 06-14-2011 at 06:51 PM.. |

let's move on.
Nope, the draft is about to come up, and the Cavs have #1 and #4. That's where we're "movin on to" (without those three brain surgeons).

I find the reactions to this finals very interesting. Miami went out and signed the best players they could (common sense and what all teams try to do) yet they are hated and vilified for it and accused of trying to buy a title even when their payroll ranks 17th in the league.
Dallas and Mark Cuban go out and spends like crazy (2nd highest payroll and $24 million higher than Miami) yet they get treated like some poor small market team that overcame great odds. What's next...will people start cheering for the Yankees and treating them like the good guys? |

Luke, that is not what happened at all. Miami did not do much, those three guys got together and worked it out. The enmity towards Miami is largely because of how Mr James handled things regarding his move to Miami. He is an arrogant SOB and people don't like arrogant SOBs, especially when much of what spills out of their pie hole in unguarded moments is insulting.
For those that don't want to discuss it, why did you click on this thread at all, just trolling a bit I guess.

Oh I know exactly what happened. 3 great players wanted to play together and Miami pulled it off by getting the cap space needed. It was the same thing NY and Chicago were trying to do.
Yes, James has an ego but most in sports do (Mark Cuban included). MJ had a huge ego and was a real jerk at times but the media protected him and times were different so he was a fan favorite. Same thing goes for Favre. In this day and age of self promotion and dancing after every first down, dunk or even fist pumping after a made putt I'm not going to get on James. His little show made $3 million for charity so who cares if he pimped himself out to ESPN. I'm a Bucks fan (poor me) so I could care less about either of these teams. But seeing as how Cuban is spending $90+ million on his team and has the 2nd highest payroll in the league I'm not going to celebrate their win as if the poor little team rose up and beat the big bad bullies and stuck it to James. James wanted to play in Miami over Cleveland (who wouldn't), would rather play with great players instead of a bunch of bums (who wouldn't) and hang with his friends (who wouldn't). He even took less cash to make it happen. I can think of a lot guys in the sports world doing a lot worse than that. Let me know when James is doing 100 mph while drunk behind the wheel. Let me know when he's brought up on rape and drug charges. Let me know when he signs a $100 million deal and decides to stop trying. Let me know when he demands a trade in the middle of his contract. Until then I'm fine with him raising $3 million for charity while pumping his ego on ESPN. |
