Had dinner with a fellow Pelican today (Hugh R.)

Hugh is in town and he's staying about 5 miles from where I'm working, so we met up for dinner and conversation this afternoon. Hugh is a great guy, a true gentleman and has some great stories and pictures of his work. The time flew by and I'm very glad that we were able to meet. Hugh is one of the Pelicans I've always wanted to meet and I'm glad I did!

Here we are... me on left, Hugh on right...

I couldn't agree more!

Hugh travels a lot and always looks up fellow Pelicans. He's welcome in my home anytime he's passing thru. A true gentleman.

Hugh is a good man.
When my 911 was acting up he came by with his P-car so we could swap out some parts to help diagnose the problem.
He's a good Pelican.

I had dinner with Hugh a while back. I'll be in LA again in a few weeks and hope we can get another good LA Pelican showing. He's one of the good guys.

Indeed. I have to say that Hugh is certainly one of the Pelicanheads I would love to meet. I have to admit, I do not keep good track of the political ideologies of otherwise anonymous people I chat with (which is really just the folks here). Through that deliberate haze, Hugh's public policy compass shines like a diamond in a goat's @$$.

I would very much like to meet Hugh. And not for the purpose of argument. I do not think we disagree. If you are ever in Seattle, Hugh (I keep having to retype your name, as my fingers prefer "High"), we'll circle the wagons and provide you a proper welcome.

Yeah, he's a great guy and he likes meeting people out on the road. He's probably met more Pelicans than anyone, between traveling and SoCal gatherings.

The man is a generous soul and I'm grateful to call him a friend.

Hugh is a great guy, wish MA were still doing tax breaks for the movie industry. That Art Z guy however, nothing but trouble I've heard.

Hugh rolled thru PDX a couple months ago. He's a true gentleman, and I would never pass up the chance to meet up with him again.

Well he did when JohnT and I met him in Ann Arbor at Casey's last year for a burger.

Hugh's a good guy no doubt.
