Spray on Chrome

Anyone got any experience with this process, good or bad?

YouTube - ‪Spray on Chrome with the Gemini Chrome System‬‏

I'm not thinking of it as an alternative to traditional chrome plating but as a way of achieving the look on other materials other than steel.

I assume it's as durable as a painted part but would like to hear from people that have used it on their own stuff.

I use to spray Spectra, and Cosmic Chrome at Charlottes Sunroof Inc. --- Looks good, but the big question for most was , how will it hold up in the future. Long story short, most of the finishes ended up tarnishing after a few months. I called the tech lines, with the customer complaints, and the companies simply told me I had a bad batch of chemicals. I think its a good idea but its still in the developing stages. I would not recommend it for any porsche chroming.

This video does not show the finish product. They have to add clear-coat to the hel-met after it dries. They never show you finished products, they only show you the chroming process. They should show products chromed at least 6 - 8 months prior to show the true durability of their products. -----BAD----

The TV show West Coast Customs did a whole Audi R-8 with this process. Turned out pretty cool. Told my wife that is the way I wanted to do my next Unimog! She said I would be arrested for blinding oncoming traffic when the sun was out!

I'd look at Duracoat - they have some high temp stuff, one of the options is chrome.
