911 call: Woman slaps husband for refusing sex

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Most emergency dispatchers are not expecting a phone call requesting to go to jail. In recently released 911 tapes, it is clear the emergency operator did not expect to hear the bizarre reasoning behind the emergency call, all of which originated in the bedroom.

The Horry County Police Department responded to a domestic incident in mid-June after a woman called 911 saying her husband wanted her to go to jail after she slapped him when he reportedly refused to have sex with her.

According to a police report, officers responded to a home along Strand Drive around noon on June 17 in reference to a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, officers were told by the wife that she and her husband were arguing and she slapped him.

She also told officers her husband was going to call the police, so she would do it for him, according to the report.

The husband claimed she never hit him and she just wanted to go to the J. Reuben Long Detention Center.

WMBF News obtained a copy of the 911 call made by the wife. In it, she told the dispatcher her husband wanted her to go to jail.

"Basically I slapped him this morning because he wouldn't have sex with me, and he hasn't had sex with me in a couple of months, so I slapped him across the face and he wants me to go to jail," reported the caller. "I guess it would be a CDV since I touched him."

The wife then told the dispatcher she was going to change clothes and get ready for the police to arrive, because she didn't want to go to jail in a sweatshirt and a pair of boxer shorts she was wearing at the time.
