Garage, man cave food?

Answer some questions:

Say you're working on the car fairly intensely. Your SO or roommate offers to make a snack What do you want and would it be any different than how it would be prepared if you were watching the game inside the house?

Say you're doing some yard work, more than the regular maintenance. Same question.

Last version, you're doing some remodel work other than at your house. Owners offer food, what's the best they can do IYO.

If it's all the same answer, just say so. Be specific, don't just say "hamburgers," tell us what's on the burger. If you have a favorite recipe, post it!

I know some foods will kill the momentum, so the emphasis is on break time food.

Orange slices with a juice box.

Pizza seems to be the go to food, but it is so heavy I never feel like working afterwards. I like a tray of meats/chez and crackers with grapes. Light enuff to keep working, small for portability and a bit of variety.

Sub on whole wheat: lean ham and/or turkey, provolone, lettuce and tomato, pickles, cucs, olives, onions, spinach, banana peppers, a little mayo, and spicy mustard. No oil and vinegar. Big ol' glass of sweet tea.

So, one day I have a card table set up in my garage so I can sit down while I take apart my Zenith's to clean......Buddy shows up, my wife asks if he wants a snack (I don't)....Next thing I know, he comes out of the house with a big plate of sausage and cheese, and a huge drink; whiskey/coke.........Pulls up a chair and starts moving my tools and parts around to have room for his drink/snack.......I'm fumin' and it wasn't carb cleaner fumes!!!!!!!!

There is a time to work and there is a time to eat. If I'm at someone else's house, just take what they offer....

Well, I myself like salads. Any kind, potato, 3-bean, fruit, taco, there are dozens. I don't have to cut it, hold it and it never slows me down.

If I make a 1000 island dressing, I use mayo and Hunt's cocktail sauce 50/50 and add in some honey. Best burger dressing ever. Sliders work pretty well.

A turkey sandwich with lettuce, dill pickle, and mayo on some good crusty bread. Handful of good potato chips, glass of iced tea in the summer or a cup of coffee if it's cold out.

I can only deal with pizza numerous times. What I mean is I have a steak sub I'm not really looking for a steak dinner. If I have a chicken wings for lunch I really don't want chicken for dinner. But if I have a pizza for lunch I could have pizza for dinner and pizza for lunch the next day and pizza for dinner the after, etc..... PIZZA IS AWESOME! If YOU can't handle the normal or thick crust go with the thin crust and eat, eat, eat....

the best...

Low carb, high protein foods for working outside... (Good Euro) Salami, Cheese, Olives etc. And strong Black Turkish coffee after.
A glass (only one) of good red wine with some sliced continental bread is my favourite for the workshop.

Oh, maybe a light salad with radicchio and argula, a sip of chilled cucumber soup, and some soda water. Yes, that would be lovely.

Actually, the situation you describe - where my SO offers to make me a snack while I am sweating away doing man-stuff - is so rare that I really have no reality-based answer.
