Fried Green Tomatoes -- looking for the song.
So I went to listen to a local band last night and they did a cover of the old song "Fried Green Tomatoes." It's nothing spectacular, just a sweet acoustic jam, just good clean fun. But now this morning I'm trying to find it, and I'm coming up completely blank. I'm getting either the soundtrack to the musical or a country album. I think it's from the 80's, but it could also be late 70's. I admit to knowing almost nothing about the song besides the name.
Does anyone have any leads on this? Anyone know where to find it, or even who wrote it? Thanks, Dan

Ha, I'm an idiot. The song is "Green Onions" by Booker T and the MG's. 1962.
Turns out that finding what you're looking for is a LOT harder when you don't even know the name of the song ... which has no lyrics. Sorry to bug everyone with my silliness. Dan

HAH! That's funny! I read "Fried Green Tomatoes", but in my head, it registered "Green Onions"! I knew exactly what you were talking about in your first post!
![]() Anyway, try this! Booker T and the MGs. Randy

Randy, it's hilarious that you thought the same thing I did. Definitely Booker T, can't believe I was so far off.
![]() Now I've got to go look up Peter Gunn and home grown tomatoes. ![]() Dan

Fried Neck Bones -- it sounds more like a top secret military operation than it does like a jazz song, but the music is great.

If you had said "Green Onions," I would have know the answer. For some reason, I've known that since I was a little kid.
