Old barn find thread tease, anyone remember?

Does anyone else remember a thread years ago about someone who teased us all about a barn find?
IIRC he said he found this incredible deal and was gonna buy it, but kept stringing us along for days without giving solid details.
How'd that end up? Was it real or BS?

I remember reading part of it and figuring it was BS and lost interest but can't remember how it turned out.

Here's the thread:

my day has come! i got one!

Parts have since been edited out....When "Farmer" started stringing people along, someone here (I know who),Registered an account as "Framer" and started giving their version....Some thought it was Tabs, but wasn't him......The real 'Farmer" took his ball and went home. The account of "Framer" was closed and those comments deleted............Zeke (Milt) was kinda ticked at Farmer for playing games...........Happy Times.....

You think I was the only one?

Anyway, I've mellowed a lot since then. I could give a flying lizard about a "barn find". Just a bunch of work that costs a ton of money so you can go out and join the R Gruppe. BTDT.

Tanks, that's the one I was thinking of.
Did we ever figure out who it was?
Playa maybe?

I doubt Playa because the styles are so different. That would take some talent. Probably a 914 guy from that "world" or maybe a Rennlist joker.

Those "barn find" threads usually don't pay off, but once in awhile they do and are great reading!

For all I know his barn find could have been an early 917 prototype with the skeleton of Ferry Porsche's long lost bastard brother behind the wheel. I would have missed that.

If he's not here anymore, good riddance.
