Good Tail of the Dragon video

Not because the cars are blistering fast, they aren't...but this one really shows the road well.

Hmmm, I just clicked on the link, the video came right up. That's too bad, because much of it is a rear view, camera on the following car.

The driver sure does not understand what a double yellow line is for. He can't keep his tire off of the yellow line. That is a great way to kill the oncoming motorcycle drivers and any other bad driver that thinks double yellow is just a suggestion.

I see the line ignorers daily and it pisses me off to no end. These redneck, Dale Jr. wanna be's think their pickemup truck can take the corners like a "Porch".
Seriously, I see it daily in the mountains and I have seen a few really close calls. I am amazed daily at the inability of most drivers...we need better driver traininng and testing for sure.

When I drove the tail or any other curvy PUBLIC road I see the yellow line as a concrete wall. The entire point of the drive for me is to enjoy the curves.

Ahhh, but not everybody is as perfect as you in your P-car...

My first run on the dragon I was met by some punk kid in my lane. When I got back to the store, him and his friends were at the upper end of the lot. Boy were they surprised that all those Porsches were there together, and I made it perfectly clear I was displeased at him. He and his friends left very fast. I think it may have had something to do with my demeanor as I walked across the parking lot towards them.
Another time we had a new member of our group who was totally out of control and several of us had a serous conversation with him.
Like my friend Jim says, why do people drive all that way to try and straighten a perfectly curvy road?

I used to think that. Then I followed a local M/C and he showed me a few tricks to the road going down. It is quite fun to see how fast you can go in neutral, just watch it the grip level is decreased.
