Supressors now legal to USE in WA

Well... tomorrow, 7/22/11. I had to look it up and verify when I first heard about it - I couldn't believe that our crazy governor would sign such a bill.

I just ordered a barrel adapter for my Walther P22, and my cousin has a can on order... this should be fun!

I see cans at the range all the time. I saw a full auto Glock pistol in action recently. I love AZ.

How effective are they? Do they "wear out" or affect accuracy?

I wonder if this is something that would help preserve one's hearing?

You still need ear protection when using a can on anything larger than .22 and especially indoors. I would love to be able to use one with .22 short around the yard for critters, but I'd go to jail if I got caught by a neighbor.

All of these depend on the specific suppressor. Some use wipes (that wear out), some use baffles. Some are more effective than others at reducing noise. None reduce noise to make the guns completely silent. It's more like they reduce noise so that they would be safe to use without hearing protection.
