for seahawks inquiry
sorry i didnt get around to posting pics. been real insane busy. heres my blackhawk molle vest. got it from opticsplanet. they were the cheapest and it was free shipping.
i started years ago with the vest thing w/a blackhawk omega vest. they still make them and i gave my younger son this one. it is a right hand drawn and holds my m-9 beretta, my hk uspc 9 and 45, my vp70z, my 1911's. and i had all the pockets stuffed with survival hunting crap. the large mag pockets are made for .223 mags which i dont own. and that was the RUB! so in my spare time, i spied the new molle version from blackhawk. what i really like about it is its mission specific. and you know as well as i do every damn time ya do something things change. this year will be a deer hunt as we were skunked on elk again. hell of a difference hunting deer and what ya need and what ya need for a late elk hunt with weather. now i kind of went on a "mission specific" buying spree of various molle bags/pouches to hold all my crap. i have molle bino bags, i have molle .308 mag holders, 9mm molle holders, .45 molle holders, molle 1st aid, molle compass pouch, molle grenade pouches(damn handy for lil crap), molle butt pack and on and on. heres where it gets spendy and ya gets what ya pay for. these damn pouches suddenly add up. look for a surplus joint that has usgi spec ones. hell of alot of cheap hecho en china/taiwan pouches out there. look for the usgi mfg tag which will state "made in the usa." i can put anything i want where i want on it. each time i use it, the mission changes. i can place a blackhawk or bianchi holster on it any draw or go to a drop leg holster also. basically every damn survival gadget is implemented into it.. i call it my "level 1". the bare bones to survive on. includes IFAK. next comes my blackhawk molle buttpack. "level 2". this can attach to vest or be worn separate from vest. this holds my canteens poncho woobie etc. once again pouches can be changed out on it. and finally "level 3" which is a 3 day recon backpack. once again with molle straps and whatever i need sleeping bag tent mres' etc. it has been basically upgraded each and every year for 30 years with all my older crap going to my kids. it makes things very organized to a nats ass. heres some pics including the MUTHA OF ALL BACK PACKS courtesy of the USMC! one bad ass backpack thats going on its maiden voyage here in a few weeks. look at: supply captain.com voodoo tactical.com tactical tailor.com opticsplanet.com ![]() ![]() as i said the mission changes hourly. do i wanna carry the camelpak, the binos the range finder the spotting scope and on and on and on it goes. do i wanna carry 24 -20rd .308 mags for the freeking zombee assault? blah blah. all i know this has greatly enhanced my life by organizing every damn thing i have into a pouch system that moves from my main duffle bag to my vest my buttpack to my 3 day pack to my main backpack. it took me a damn long time to get to this point and was not cheap. but it sure as hell is ORGANIZED! and we like dat!

p.s. as you can see, you can really load these down real fast. what i like is going from a quad, to a truck, or jeep, dirty bike, humping it, and you can grab or delete something you need or dont want at base camp.
for cross draw center of chest i suggest the blackhawk serpa holster. they work damn good.

seahawk when its damn cold out, i basically rip all the pouches off, and wear the vest under either my bdu jacket or my usgi goretex. when those conditions exist especially on a quad, i leave my holster attached and it stays dry and mud free.
generally EVERYTHING ELSE is covered in mud. opticsplanet.com was the cheapest i found on damn near every oddball pouch i needed as well as the vest. as i stated i gave my omega vest to my younger son. hes a wrong handed kind of guy. actually hes ambi-dextrious so he can still use the right hand cross draw. the cross draw also holds a 4" smith .357. i havent tried my 4" smith .44 yet so i dont know. 9mm and .45 for bad peoples .357 and .44 mag fer bad kritters. the military bianchi holsters are molle compatible. i have their UM revolver nylon holster that fits my smith 4" .357 and my smith m-29 4" .44 mag. if ya note the vest picture, i mounted the camelpak in its lil vest pouch, and have (2) new style canteen holders. whats unique about the new canteen holders is they double as anysize mag holders. you can cram a poo full of mags in them also. so as ya can see if yer trekking the sahara, you could haul alot of water on the vest. if on a quad you could also utilize a molle buttpouch attached to vest. if in a vehicle you would have to remove buttpack, same if ya externally mounted the camelpak. its a mix and match mission specific gig here. and it really does keep yer crap organized. i went with ACU camo over marpat due to costs. the USMC developed marpat camo and get a nice lil royalty for their efforts. ACU camo works just fine in the dez or the forests to break up yer outline.
