Cheap but handy tips

Stripped wood screw? Don't go with a bigger screw. Instead, place wood glue on a golf tee, drive into hole, let glue cure, cut off flush, drill hole in the "new wood". (round toothpick for tiny screws.)

Place a kitchen rug in your trunk. Protects original carpet, but doubles as a kneeling pad while changing a tire. Place a pair of cotton gloves under the rug.

Any others?

non toxic weed killer: 1 Gal 5% Vinegar
1 Cup Salt
¼ Cup Dish Soap

Apply full strength to weeds, don't apply to anything you want to live.

I know that it is only just after noon but I am on holidays and too sore from hockey last night to work at home, but that right there brought a little bit of beer out my nostrils!!

If your windshield wipers are streaking and you don't have the opportunity to replace them immediately, run some wetted #400 wet/dry sandpaper along the edges. It'll get you another couple of weeks out of them. If the sandpaper isn't available, the striker strip from a book of matches will work too.

Toothpaste is a decent stand-in for rubbing compound to remove a paint scrape from your car's fender or bumper. I used this trick on a rental car once to avoid being charged for paint damage after scraping a pole in a parking garage.

will try your formula.
trying to kill dendalion in my 10' x 10' grass area (small) with a big bag of the scotts thing from home depot, the type of killing dendalion and fertilize grass at the same time. Did work. It kills grass more than hurting dendalion. Then a bottle of liquid type Bayer Advance. Not working either.
Thanks.

I heard a recommendation to use Orange Glo on stainless steel appliances. I've seen Pledge used and it works. I use WD 40 on the upper part of the range hood where the grease and dust likes to settle. The WD cuts the goo and leaves a shine. Actually, Pledge does that too.

Both make it easier to clean next time.

Cream of Tartar for stripping the impossible-to-strip coating of road grime on your windshield.

Rain-X works! So does rubbing a raw potato on your windshield, but does not last as long.

Vinegar cleans electrical contacts. Also cleans glass pretty well.

Toothpaste removes blood and other protein stains. Use COLD water.

Plants like to be sprayed with soapy water. The bugs that live in and eat those plants will $h!t themselves to death.

Just replace the ABS ring not the whole axle on your Ford Escape.

Punch a little hole on the big end of an egg to keep the shell from cracking when you boil it. Use a push pin.

That'll work...thanks.

Mr. Clean "magic eraser" is great for removing the wiper marks from windshields.
(not bad for cleaning a pool cue shaft either)
