"Middle age before old age"
Some old man said this to my wife yesterday in a check-out line. BAM! Reality check for her. Ha friggin' ha. I had to remind her that she IS middle-aged, perhaps even a bit past . . .

The proper phrase to use in that situation is "ladies first."
I can't imagine saying what that guy said... that's kinda odd to say the least.

My wife did a track work-out this am with my daughter, instead of her usual slog on the canal bank. Coincidence? I think not.
