Many of the quote great actors played the same character in almost every movie and their bad movies were usally deviations from that character.

Agree: Dennehy is one the greats.

Wow. Some of you guys are harsh. I'll vote for Adam Sandler. Same character, different movie.

If you like an actor's performance in one movie, but dislike them in another, is that a sign of a bad actor, bad script, direction or what? For example, were all of Jack Nicholson's roles spot on?

Chinatown was a good movie and Jack is awesome in that.

Ben Stiller Jack Black, that Ricky Bobby guy and especially Owen Wilson- equally terrible.

Most of his movies suck (well, actually all of them except one). The biofilm JCVD is proof that he does know how to act.

Didn't know that - but may I suggest a new movie:

Instead of Aliens vs. Predators, now about

Seagal vs. Vandamme ??

-Z-man.

JCVD was a surprisingly honest film. A lot of actors wouldnt take a risk like that.

Certainly agree that Nick Cage is awful. Mostly that Costner is too - but I thought he did a great job on the western he made a while back - "Open Range," "Free Range," something like that. Pretty good movie. Really like Annette Benning in that film....

I just re-watched it after seeing the new one.

NO ONE IS WORSE THAN GLEN CAMPBELL, anywhere, anytime.

There.

. . . and he would have been the first one to tell you that. He was embarrassed by that movie, and also the next one he was in (with Kim Darby) called Norwood.

Shai Labuf - Gets my vote for Ruining three separate franchises: Indian Jones, Wall Street, and Transformers.

Hayden Christensen - Get an honorable mention for his efforts to kill off Star Wars, but that honor goes to Jar Jar (can I nominate a fictional character for a worst actor award?)

I wouldn't call Nicholson a bad actor, but he's pretty consistent in all his movies: really got only one persona, "Crazy". he does crazy really well and that's pretty much all he does.

Tom Selleck

Agreed. Not a great film entertainment-wise, but went out on a limb without parachute.
