I also always try to get as much parking space around my car as possible, sometimes also take two spots diagonally. People are so unconcerned about what their doors do too other cars. I got this "car-door-courtesy-call" just a few weeks after I drove the car off the dealer's lot:

I don't need any more of those!

I have a friend who once told me his parents and their next door neighbor had side-by-side driveways. After numerous ignored warnings to the neighbors about dings from their car doors, my then young and impetuous friend said he paid them back with a series of well-placed, anonymous "door ding's from his father's collection of ball peen hammers.

Not sure what happened after that as I was laughing so hard, I didn't hear the follow up, but I think they moved shortly after.

I may have repeated and embellished this same story on a very early page of this thread, but who remembers what happened on page 2? This topic is so timeless, future generations of vehicle door owners will keep this thread active for generations.

BTW, there's a need to bring the ubiquitous parking note up to speed. There should be an APP to send a text message to vehicle owners via their license plate number - it should make it's coder a millionaire overnight.

Until then, perhaps a small on-board label printer to create fortune cookie-size reminders we might feel compelled to create with deep philosophical meaning. E.g. "Are there quotas on douche parking?"

Got out walked away, then came back and took a picture of it and walked away again. There was a gross sweat stain up the center back of her dress.

^^ Not much of a foul. It is their parking lot.

I would classify these as minor, since they are not technically using two parking spaces. I'd still think its a bit dangerous, because those spaces are free to give other cars the width to turn right.<br>

Exactly, why, if there are so many open spaces, do you need to double park?

In some circumstances, I will park sort or like that. I'll park on or over the line when there's empty space on the other side of the line to make sure there's ample space on the opposite side.

My neighbor and I take up two spaces on the street. He on one side and me on the other. The problem lies in the amount of street left for traffic, it's not two way anymore, and I could park elsewhere. It's a blind right hand (or left) curve. The annoying WRX owner down the street loved to goose it through the turn with his loud arse exhaust. No more of that.
