Another d'bag needs two parking spaces.

There is plenty or parking in this lot, but only about eight of the spaces are in the shade. They are the farthest from anything, but also the most sought after because the sun here is so brutal. This Mitsubishi asshat has done this a few times. I purposely parked my bike next to his driver's door to defeat his purpose.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1313111384.jpg

I saw a note on his windshield and was hoping it was from a cop. But it was this.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1313111423.jpg

This wasn't handwritten. Someone had these printed up. When I came back out from the gym an hour later, this card was laying on the ground where the car had been. So I kept it and will reuse it when appropriate. I really hate these people.

inflate a black balloon and place securely in front of his rear pass side tire.

Genius!

slodave 08-11-2011 05:25 PM

I had a similar card. :) Said:

Thanks for taking up two spaces, you stupid, inconsiderate moron. Thanks to you, I had to park two blocks away.

Porsche-O-Phile 08-11-2011 05:26 PM

Not that you're wrong, but I tend to think you're playing with fire being on a bike. I wouldn't have been surprised if you'd said you went back later only to have found your m/c kicked over.

Yea people can be dicks but most times it's not worth getting a rise out of 'em. At least it's someone who values their ride (even if it is a lame-ass eclipse) - it's still infinitely better than the 99% of the population that probably couldn't tell you anything about their car other than what color it is since they hold it in about the same amount of esteem as a dishwasher... And they drive accordingly.

stomachmonkey 08-11-2011 05:31 PM

Funny thing is that kind of behavior very often results in worse than what the asshat was trying to avoid.

A930Rocket 08-11-2011 05:33 PM

And if you had a Mitsubishi, you wouldn't do the same?

Rick Lee 08-11-2011 05:37 PM

I wasn't worried about his messing with my bike. I think he belongs to my gym. I have his plate number and he parks there all the time. No problem finding him if I have to and doing worse damage to his car if need be.

Can't do the balloon trick for a while. It's pop as soon as it touched the asphalt here, it's that hot.

sammyg2 08-11-2011 05:57 PM

He backed into that spot.
Maybe he's just a total tard and when it comes to backing up and that's the best he could do? ;)

Really have you not graduated from 7th grade emotionally?

You tried to park so close to someone that it will interfere with them having ingress egress from there car... you took photos of it... you post it on the internet, then you mention you know you know who it is and can do worse damage to there property if something happens to your staged parking job.. Apparently a tremendous amount of thought went into outing this persons (intentionally)bad parking job..

What I see in the photo you posted, knowing its history is:

"Two d'bags need two parking spaces"

Are there not more important things to get worked up about? Its parking? sheesh..

RWebb 08-11-2011 06:02 PM

next time - find the gym's PA system and make an announcement describing his car and plate - something along the lines of "car is being towed away"

you'll see who it is then besides some minor amusement

RWebb 08-11-2011 06:03 PM

Its SHADED parking!

well worth a gun fight

Brando 08-11-2011 06:05 PM

Too bad you didn't have a vehicle with towing capabilities... Just drag them into the middle of the aisle-way and watch them get towed within an hour...

Uh no. I didn't park up against his door and a bike doesn't need an entire parking spot. He had plenty of room to open his door, just as he would have, had he taken up one spot with cars in the spots next to him. This isn't some European parking garage. There's plenty of room for everyone. And, had there been another free space in the shade, I'd have taken it. But there wasn't....because of this asshat. I don't like having my bike cook in the sun. This asshat didn't even have a sun visor in his windshield like everyone else here. He was far more concerned with being away from everyone than keeping his black car cool. I took photos of it so I'd be able to show it to the cops if he did anything to my bike. Again, he's a regular there and he probably knows I am, so my bike is probably safe.

stomachmonkey 08-11-2011 06:10 PM

Actually Rick, he's kind of doing you a favor.

He's not leaving enough room for another car but he is leaving enough room for 2 bikes.

He's still an asshat but it does work to your benefit.

Rick Lee 08-11-2011 06:13 PM

Actually, they have special spaces for bikes up front in that lot. But it's in front of a storm drain and so the spaces are always an inch thick in sand or mud after it rains, which is not good while maneuvering at idle with my feet. No one parks their bikes there. I'll be curious to see if this guy keeps it up after today. Lots of cops work out there too, so I'll ask one of them about it sometime.

bivenator 08-11-2011 07:03 PM

Is it illegal or just immoral to take two spaces? Being private property it may the gym that does the enforcement.

911Urge 08-11-2011 07:51 PM

You should find "Dolly Man" (was'nt he in AZ?) and see what fun you could cook up for this person. Maybe turn his car sideways or move it out into the sun.

I'm so happy we Americans have such important issues to be pissed up about. I wonder how the other 90% of the have-nots on the planet would view this thread?

Geronimo '74 08-11-2011 09:19 PM

banana in the tailpipe.

Don't forget to attach the note.

Yep. Someone will key his car, knowing he's an ass hole and wanting to show him how his selfishness has been perceived.

You could say the same for every single thread on this BBS for Porsche enthusiasts.

His car has dents and dings all over it and I think even hail damage. It's not in great shape and it really escapes me why he thinks he needs or deserves two parking spaces. I park my 993 there all the time and have never once thought of taking two spaces anywhere.

RANDY P 08-12-2011 12:08 AM

I dunno what it is with this place-

I noticed if you have a expensive car it's OK to double park, or take up Handicapped up front at the restaurant.

Must be an AZ thing. See it all the time here....

Never, ever leave a note. It just gives him and idea of who stuck the exacto knive into the side wall of his tire. Just be happy that he has a flat and move on.

Long time ago I went to a gymclub that had a problem with non customers occupying the private parking places.
They went and bought stickers, 15 inch X 15 inch that were very very dificult to remove. They stuck like hell and impossible to pull off in one piece.
Funny to leave the gym and see one or the other douche prying the sticker from his windshield in tiny pieces (driver's side of course).... I reckon, it took him about 45 minutes before he could leave... :D:D
The word spread and the problem was gone in no time...

URY914 08-12-2011 03:05 AM

You know this my have been a women driver that had no idea she was parking on the line.

jyl 08-12-2011 04:16 AM

If he's a regular at the gym, have the gym manager deal with it.

GH85Carrera 08-12-2011 04:31 AM

There are two churches in downtown Montgomery AL that are side by side. The Catholic church had adequate parking for their members but no excess. The Baptists scheduled the services early and kept parking in the Catholics lot and filled it up. Polite requests were ignored. The Catholics just put big bright hard to remove bumper stickers on any car in their lot that said "Proud to be a Catholic"

The problem went away.

I think Shaun hacked into Motion's account a few mos. ago and the real Motion hasn't posted since then.

DaveE 08-12-2011 05:53 AM

When I park my 911 at a shopping center I'll park it out far away from the other cars, but I'll keep it in one space. One day I came back out to the car and sure enough there was another car parked right beside it, very close to the driver's side door, making it very hard for me to get in. There wasn't another car within 15 spaces I'll bet and it really ticked me off. Not that it has much to do with your situation. Just venting.....

scottbombedout 08-12-2011 05:57 AM

Rick, you've got a gun....

Jim Richards 08-12-2011 06:14 AM

OMFG! I'm totally outraged! How could sh_t like this happen?

Seriously, wtf does this issue even merit a thread? Isn't this common as fleas on a dog?

I was going to suggest a Potatoe up the Tail Pipe...

Grand PA had a 1940 Lincoln Zepher, parked it in the parking lot of a Bier Garten..came out of the Garten and couldn't start the car..he got pissed and knowing GrandPa you wouldn't want him pisseed at you. Grand Ma told me that they went to a Bier Garten one evening and some Schmuck asked her to dance, she refused and wouldn't take no for an answer. So Grand Pa got in a fight with him and five of his friends. Grand Pa knocked them all out. Police came hauled them all before the court, they let Gtand Pa go but fined each of the others $50. Anyway he found out there was a potatoe up the tail pipe.

afterburn 549 08-12-2011 07:03 AM

you guys need some "couch" time with the shrink ! If that was my biggest problem i would be in
Utopia.
Goes to show many here need to fight in a real war somewhere..t\Then this crap would be little crap
Geesh...all over a parking job?
give it a rest

DonDavis 08-12-2011 07:12 AM

Rick, seriously, trim your nails. Or at least that toe nail in the pic. :p

Z-man 08-12-2011 07:21 AM

I still can't get over the fact that it is an older Mitsu Eclipse. I can appreciate anyone who has pride in his car, and doesn't want to get it scratched or dinged, but seriously dude -- AIM HIGHER! If he really believes that his DSM is worthy of such 'protection' then I suspect this individual has a high sense of his own self worth. That will get him far in life -- possibly in a few years and lots of hard work, he can get that promotion to the level of a manager at the local McDonalds he's been vying for! ;)

It's not like it's a well-sorted 944 or a Mustang...
