AZ is hot, I lived up in Ricks area for 5 years. Back in Socal now and I still miss it sometimes.

Cave Creek and Carefree is absolutely spectacular in the winter.

We have two more weeks of 30% humidity and stupid hot and then four more weeks of pretty hot and 15% humidity. Then it's eight mos. of paradise. Love this place. Everyone stay away. And if you come, park correctly.

Ah yes, Phoenix is a magical city:

"The Morgan Quitno Safest City Award will not belong to Phoenix this year (or any year in the near future). The study, done every year, analyzes the FBI crime reports for cities based on the rates for six crime categories: murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, and motor vehicle theft. Each of the six crimes was given equal weight. Phoenix was found to be a dangerous city.

In this survey based on 2003 statistics, 354 cities were compared. Mathematical calculations are used to compare the cities' crime rates per 100,000 residents to the national average. Keep in mind that this listing includes the City of Phoenix proper, not any other city or town in the greater Phoenix area."

My folks lived in Phoenix for about ten years until my dad retired from the state job he had. They'd sold their home, packed and shipped their belongings, rented a studio apt. for a month and a half and the day after his last day of work, packed and shipped what remained, got into their car and left for California, never to return to that desert furnace shyte hole.

Uh, I think you took a wrong turn and ended up in Death Valley.

It's definitely hot here this time of year, just not quite that hot.

Uh yeah, the same can be said of plenty of "cities proper" in your beloved Kalifornia (or anywhere else for that matter).

Shyte hole, eh? So, they lived in the ghetto? If so, I understand and agree. But again, that goes for crappy areas anywhere. Otherwise, most residents of Paradise Valley, Fountain Hills, Scottsdale, Cave Creek, Carefree, North Phoenix/Glendale/Peoria, Ahwatukee, etc. would likely disagree with you. Yes it can get damn hot here in the summer. However, I'd rather put up with a little heat in the summer (with cooler climates within a 2-hour drive whenever you want to get away), and have 8 months of ideal weather, than have a mild summer and 8 months of freezing my ass off and shoveling snow. YMMV.

Oh, I know. Lottsa nice folks live in AZ (some of them don't even own a gun, not that I care one way or the other). It's a beautiful state and I enjoy driving my SC over to Sedona when it's cool and have friends who live in Prescott and Tucson and love it. Don't understand why people who love the SW and can afford to live in Scottsdale prefer it to, oh, say Santa Fe (yeah I know, it gets colder there).

I live in California (what's Kalifornia?) and neither love nor hate the state, per se. Plenty of places here that some people consider shyte holes too; Riverside, El Centro, et al, whatever sinks your boat.

I do love living on the Pacific Coast in the only Mediterranean climate (year 'round) on the continent and can afford to live here and weather the state's ills that drive so many into leaving.

Different strokes for different folks. Couldn't pay me enough to live in AZ though...or, for that matter, to live in a multitude of other places in this country.

I was @ HD yesterday, and some d'bag chromosexual extraordinaire felt the need to roll his hawg all the way to the fuchin' front door! Right where they have the take-home tie-down supplies.

I park my bike by the front door of lots of businesses, depending on the position of the sun at that time of day. Totally legal and customary here and frees up spaces for cars who need to take up more than one.

Nope, still a huge d'bag move. The acid test is what would happen if everyone thought they were so "special" and did that?

I need to get a camera phone; this asshat was just a couple feet from taking the bike into the store. His "hawg" was in the way of people trying to get carts of lumber out of the store.

Easy enough to just push it over on its side if it's in the way.

BTW, Rick Lee *is* special. So there.

Sorry, but it's legal and customary here and just about every bike does do it. It frees up spaces for the cages, especially in the parking lots that don't have motorcycle spaces. And it keeps the bikes from getting cooked in the sun. Not a d'bag move at all. In fact, it would be a d'bag move to take up a car parking space in a crowded lot when you can perfectly legally park up by the door. I'm not saying obstruct the door, but most bikes here park by the bicycle rack and store employees do the same.

Saw this today. It's a bit sad when you go around life thinking about the threads you read on Peiican.

Perhaps the other cars were not parked in the right way when he arrived there, and he went in the only available space at that time? Dunno , just sayin'.

What's the deal with that truck to the far right with its back doors open facing the weird parking dude? And is that a light bar on top of that other white car to the right? Looks like those spaces may be being held for a legit reason.

Shred day?

The trailer houses an MRI machine. Usually those spaces are available for parking, but they were all coned off when I drove in (presumably so they could tow away the trailer later on?). No one was parked there. An hour later I looked out the window and saw how the car in the middle had moved over a couple of the cones and parked Rick Lee style. Don't know the story behind that.

Is the MRI trailer out there once a month for indigent care or something?

And... is that a light bar on top of that other white car?

That is always my second thought when I see someone parked like a douche.

The first being "look at that douche" of course... (Hey, I'm no better than the rest of you)

My Targa is too small. I could only take 2 spaces.

Next time, try crouching when taking a picture. (and maybe move to the side a little)
