Totally, and completely snuubed by female Cayenne owner tonight!

What a pretentious little snob. I pulled in right next to her at the gas station in my big red shiny new truck, and saw a sweet black Cayenne turbo s . I told her that it was a beautiful vehicle, and then asked them how they liked it. It was a cougarish looking 50 something woman with her teen daughter. Fookin' snubbed,. She curled her lip at me, got in her Cayenne closed the door , and drove away. Granted I was wearing a stained old t shirt, and my favorite pair of cut off sweat pants, ( I was doing lawn work before that ). But damn, just rude. I think I come off as a pretty friendly, no threatening person.
I have almost made a game of talking to porsche owners. Any time I see someone driving any porsche, I almost always will compliment it, and ask a few questions, try to chat them up a little. More times than not, most people are just rude, and not interested. The air cooled guys will almost always take a few minutes to bs with you, but the stereotypes almost always fall true. Boxster and Cayenne owners get the most rude Porsche owner award in my book.

Lemme get this straight...you said a Cayenne was a beautiful vehicle??? You said this with a straight face?

I was standing by my very clean 89 Targa when a woman and her daughter walked by, the daughter looked at my car and said, look mom, a Porsche, but we have a new one.

How old was the kid? I've said that in reverse (ours is older) many times as a young 'un

Know what the difference is between a porcupine and a Cayenne driver? Porcupines have pricks on the outside.

I thought it was the Ferrari drivers that go for the teenage daughters?

Yeah , in hindsight, I should have told her she had a nice rack, and asked her how much for her daughter. It does not pay to be a nice guy anymore.

Plus, you never get to make crude comments like that. Well, not out loud, at least.

And don't ever open a door for women anymore, you will get the dirtiest look!

There is a sad disconnect between owners of newer and older P-cars. I have also run into this form of Classism with older P cars. There is a fellow female Porsche owner in my town who owns a mid 80s 911. When she saw my 930, she made a face and snubbed the look of it. The sound of the 930 is not "lady-like" so maybe that is it. Who knows?

I was in my old DB4 in Malibu once, and a guy in a brand new one pulled in two spaces from me. I said nice Aston, he looks at my car and says nice car, what is it?

Owners of new Porsche, by and large, are 100% clueless. Their car is a fashion accessory. Like a big piece of jewelry. They may not know where the engine is located and almost certainly do not know what a "flat six" is. Even Porsche's legendary racing heritage.....they're vaguely aware there must be some reason Porsches make such good jewelry.

The rest of us know, understand and love these cars for a variety of reasons. Our interest in these cars is is deep and wide. We look sadly at the posers who drive brand new Porsches and we think "I hope the idiot driving my next Porsche is changing the oil regularly."

Unless it is a GT3 or GT2 I just think that they don't know what they are missing out on with an older car.

Supe is correct. There are car aficianados (sp?) and then there are car owners. Most folks don't know **** about their car. I know a guy with a nice collection worth 1-2MM. He rarely drives the cars and most of them drip from lack of use. Sure are purty. Run like crap.

It is a funny world. I tried to tell my boss about the engine fix for his 996 and he looked at me like I had two heads.

When you're "50 something" most females kinda just look right through you. Something to get used too. Of course, this doesn't happen to me.

I tend to snub most Chevy truck owners too, as they are obviously of poor taste...
