I am so sorry for your loss, Angela. I remember the car thread vividly. Yup, handsome man. Blood has no particular thickness. The thickener is love. There is sadness in this story, but not badness or regret. You are a wonderful person, and his love is part of that. I am sorry for your loss, and rejoice in the love you shared.

This Pelican community ROCKS.

Thanks you guys - your kindness is only exceeded by your charm and wit! No, wait, that's not right, your kindness beats all the rest hands down. Glad to know you, this is what online communities should be like.

I thought you guys might get a kick out of this - sort of a part II to the above story.

I decided that it would be cool if each of my brothers had a mixer. So I found a couple of others over the last few months and enough cups to match. They are all model 30's but there are very slight differences among them. Turned out that they take different cups. I accumulated enough cups to have exactly the right ones for each mixer.

Going to restore them all (found brushes, etc online), replace the cords, etc., and give one to each brother, keeping the third for myself. All of them run so it's just a preventative overhaul (well, and an upgrade from very, very old power cords). Thought it would be a nice Christmas gift this year.

Today was Dad's b-day. We celebrated by firing up the mixers and making milkshakes for everyone! Chocolate/banana milkshakes - they were AWESOME!!!
