porch project!!
 

few shots of yesterday's project, a new porch for out back. not fasten to the house or concrete so in theory it could be pulled away, cleaned out from under, or possibly vermin removal. mooched most of the under pinning, around $240 for the redwood.

there were two joist added mid span in each box parallel with the slider, just no pics.. i was close to deckin then, no time for a photo:D

was not aware it was so blatantly derogatory. meant no harm, hope it did not offend anyone. mods, if you must delete do so, i just wanted to share my deck project.

I no longer have a dog in this fight. I had a problem with the title, it was changed. I'm not a PC nazi, just have strong feelings about that paticular name & how I witnessed it used 20 years ago. BTW, nice porch.

I am not aware of what the term means, so I have something in common with the OP.
When I first read it I thought it might have something to do with those trunk monkey commercials. I'll google it after this rant.
Depending on it's slang interpretation I'll probably be careful not to use it in a context that could be construed as insulting.

Sorry you experienced a bad reaction from informal talk, and thank you for your service. I can't count how many times I've been called a white boy/gaijin/etc, been ignored, or had a door slammed in my face. Sometimes you can't cure ignorance.

I was a bit surprised by the title of this thread as well. I'm from the Detroit area, and porch monkey is not a nice term. That will get you in a fight, and rightly so. Its a racist term.
