Not professional, Rick. I'm offended for free.

speeder 09-05-2011 10:22 AM

FWIW, my second to last post was directed at the post before your Larry David clip. I did not watch it but generally find LD hilarious. I hate PC but this is not a PC issue. That's a BS defense.

Rick Lee 09-05-2011 10:29 AM

I really think people learn how to be offended and learn how to hate. Neither comes naturally. Americans are the foremost authority on how to be offended.

Okay time for the decalf, The OP acknowledged his error due to his ignorance of the term, he has offered for the mods to delete it, it was a simple and honest mistake with no harm intended. There is no room for intolerance in today's society and that goes for those who do not have the ability to recognize an honest error, and not accept the apology of the person who has made the offense. That is the same issue.

Personally Rick, I'm offended that you could call me so easily offended.

All citizens who cherish liberty must reject the scourge of Political Correctness. Freedom of speech must be preserved in America if we are to continue to be free.

If you spread that on your lawn it will come up nice and green.

So in the fight for freedom of speech is ok for me refer to you wife/daughter/mother as a female dog or a woman of the night... alls good when fighting the commies right?

nostatic 09-05-2011 11:29 AM

fwiw I know the OP and have no doubt that the thread title was an innocent oversight. I changed the thread title.

Oddly enough most of the "anti-PC" crowd here are middle aged white guys. Shocking...

And john70t, I'm offended that you're offended at being offended about being offended. Offensive...to Rick at least.

Rick Lee 09-05-2011 11:31 AM

It's ok. I've had John on ignore for about a year. No harm, no foul.

Would "Porch Toby" be racist?

Hugh R 09-05-2011 11:45 AM

Why is it considered "racist" to recognize an activity/lifestyle for what it is?

Because it might offend someone. And we can't have that.

i did get a lot of grief as a kid about the time the epic mini series roots came out. a lot of it.

i generally learn a little something every day here, yesterday i learned a phase that i often would use for the act of hanging around out front with some beers is not as harmless and fun as i had believed. today i learned not to use it any longer.

dennis- not to split hairs, but this was not posted two days ago, less than 24 hours to be specific.

thanks todd for the edit. now this will fall~fall way off the front page quickly, like many of my other contributions here.

will work carpentry for race parts to any locals......

You have nothing to apologize for. I know, and like Denis, he's an OK guy, but this inflation of your post is groundless.

...

what's interesting (to me) is that SOME people can not allow there to be ANY other meaning to certain words. ...even tho a significantly large group of people breathe new meaning into the words. Sad that such words must be put on a pedestal of shame, where they are not to EVAR be spoken again. meh...this PC stuff is retarded. ...er, it niggles ... er... I got nothing.

I like the porch, it looks really nice.

Yeah, it was yesterday afternoon now that I think of it. At Phillipe's in DT L.A. where they invented the French Dip sandwich. They have free WiFi. And FWIW, my problem is not with you if it was really an honest mistake.

azasadny 09-05-2011 03:11 PM

Nice porch!

nostatic 09-05-2011 03:18 PM

at least it is an air-cooled porch...
