ya know, I hear that Yellowstone National Park is outgassing quite a few nasty gasses... we should probably slab over the whole place with a few feet thick concrete... reinforced of course. it can be a jobs program. -think of the children!!

The thousands of jobs that TransXL will create do not serve Obama's goal of maximizing dependence on government so his stooges all need to get out there and vilify it.

Stand on the shore at Carpenteria State Beach and its largely natural asphalt.

You're intent is consistent with that of an enviro-tard, trying to create a sensationalistic emotional response from the uninformed ignorant masses through exaggeration and deception. Unfortunately as evidenced in this thread ,you have not been completely unsuccessful.

It's amazing how SOME people can form a strong opinion about something they have no knowledge or understanding of.

- what a perfect example of an industry shill PARFing up a thread in OT

- enjoy your salary from Tesoro Oil Co. sammy, and keep your political comments in PARF where they belong

this is also a perfect example of the fallacy that the govt. adequately protects people's health -- but WAIT, you are one of the main shills on PARF who claims that govt. cannot do anything right

other mistakes in your logic include the crazy notion that if it's natural it's good (yes, like smallpox and plague, right?)

and your very convenient ignoring of the fact that, as I noted above, the agency that is supposed to police pipeline safety has been defunded by Congress and has an inadequate number of inspectors

not to mention that about half the spills involve products other than crude, many of them worse than crude, and less able to be broken down by bacteria

I can go on...

the data don't lie, sammy -- unlike you, or should I say "affirmatively misrepresent"?

hyperbole -know the difference.

Then you will see Sammy's main point - which you are free to attempt to refute. ...good luck w/ that

No thanks. When someone has to use constant, rampant, hyperbolic assertions instead of facts they dont deserve to be refuted.

well, look who's exaggerating now... :D

Seriously, Sammy puts up a whole bunch of good info, and you focus on what was obviously just a bit of hyperbole. --not exactly an honest assessment of his post there.

:D :p

sammy's good info was largely irrelevant for the reasons I posted above

BTW - with natural gas (whether from a geologic deposit or from using up some that would otherwise escape into the atmosphere, such as animal feed lots or landfills) there is still a risk of explosion -- as some very unlucky people in SFO area found out a year or two ago

none of these problems means you don't use or transport the energy - it simply means you need to do so safely - and that includes attacks by terrorists too
