I agree a lot of guys are intimidated by strong willed women. My wife of 36 years doesn't work in the garage but I know if she wanted to she would be very good at it. She is one of the strongest people I know, just not physically. Once she is committed to something there is no stopping her. She has always put up with my love of cars.

Mine too but only because I keep her in some nice vehicles, that we could not afford to pay me to fix

Come on, I dropped my first engine on my '74 2.0 914 - to change the clutch. (I was a poor art student - had no money, but I was pretty good with my hands, so I figured, heck, why not?)

Just this weekend I replaced the upper and lower radiator hoses along with soft flushing and coolant change in my daily. And then I got dressed up, put on the stilettos and went out to a political 'do'.

Plus I can probably diagnosis your alignment problems by just looking at the wear on your tires... (it is what we do at work...)

American girls can work on cars just fine.

More women are hanging out on Pelican - and for good reason.

The guys here have figured out that most games are more fun when the girls get to play, too!

Be nice and open to girls who want to learn about cars. Don't make fun of them or tease them if they don't know something. Don't question them about why or ask "have you EVER worked on cars before?"

Give them credit that they even have the balls to attempt to tackle it. Ok, that's all. I'm just venting. Most guys on this PP forum are pretty nice. I have just gotten the opposite reaction on the street. And just for the record, this woman is my hero too. I would love to have a 356. Maybe I need to tap HER for her knowledge...
Ahmmm, I have one sitting in the garage a few miles away from you that you are free to train on and we do not even have to get frisky!

Sending you an email.

Joe

EDIT, well was going to email or PM you but you have disabled this on your profile!

I am going to be in Gilbert this afternoon so get in your neck of the woods from time to time. I travel as well so know the feeling.

Drop me an email (my profile allows it!) and we should have you come to one of our local Porsche get-togethers and meet everyone.

Joe A

What? My PM thing is disabled? Hmmm... Didn't know that. Thanks for telling me. No wonder why the invitations for fixing cars, playing guitar, and riding motorcycles weren't pouring in.

Yep, right click on your "tweezers" user name on any post and it comes up with your profile. then in the middle to upper left under your name are 4-5 tabs. One of them should be "contact info" and from there gives people the chance to PM, email and so on and yours is missing...

Just think of all those dates you missed out on!

Women outclass men in all the possible ways.

"Listen, son. Most women are damn fools and children. But they've got more range than we've got. The brave ones are braver, the good ones are better — and the vile ones are viler, for that matter." Its not me. its a quote from Heinlein.

The world is just lucky this one went for a 356, instead of something like a Saturn V rocket.

I checked it. It still works. You can send me a PM. It is still an option. So there wasn't all those date offers???? Ha ha! Proves my point... men are scared of independent women.

I would have sent one, but I didn't figure you'd take to kindly to a 20yr old that lives 1000miles away.....

I've learned to not get my hopes up...

Foxpaws, have I ever seen you at the monthly breakfast meeting in Lousiville? I'm pretty easy to spot as I have the only 964 turbo that ever shows up.

If you are ever there, say hi.

Oh, and look at my tires, they only seem to last about 7000 miles,

Bill

Since we're celebrating the Pelican women in this thread, let me just say how much you are appreciated!

You add a much-needed touch of feminine wisdom, charm and civility to this place.

It would be a sadder forum without you.

Bill - I went once last year - haven't made it this year... however - what weekend is it? I'll try to make it.

Also - I don't always drive the p-car - The caddy has to get his fair share of road time (well, actually the caddy gets more - it is the perfect road trip car - so every year it gets a 2,000 or more mile "road-trip" logged). However, the caddy is easier to spot.

And I love looking at tires , but wow - your mileage is like in NSX's range (not good, not good)...

And thank you Dottore - us girls can mix it up if we have to... but I certainly go for 'real' and not 'internet' if I am going to do that.
