Vintage racing? Nope, the real thing.
Don't know if this has been posted before.
From back in the day, various races;

Yep, thats right by my house. I wish it was still in operation (you can still see some of the turns). It would be much better than all the street racing on Mulholland that goes on right next to it. And it is 90 miles closer than Willow Springs. And it is not in the desert- has trees and nice scenic views of a state park.

OK, I was talking about Paramount Ranch, I've seen the video from there before.

Too big to fail

It's vintage and it's racing, vs a track day for a bunch of rich guys.

It's definitely racing as it used to be. Imagine seeing a 300SL gull wing being driven today in a vintage 'race' like the one spinning out in the Del Mar film.

Great footage. I wish I'd been born a few decades earlier when I see this stuff.
I'll take exception to the track day for rich guys comment. I race vintage in the PNW and have plenty of track days under my belt as well. They don't compare. There are plenty of rich guys out at a vintage race but also plenty of weekend warriors maintaining their own Formula Vees and other cheaper cars and who just love to race. The rich guys are also pushing their cars hard. The difference is they have a crew to fix em :-) We've had two of these incidents in the last couple of years. You hate to see them but this is the result of hotly contested close racing. This pic was sent to the club to remind us about the importance of arm restraint use and fit. This incident happened right behind me in a race. Saw most of it in my left mirror.

Here is an interesting link to some racing down my way south of San Diego. When I went to the first street circuit race I did in Baja back in 2004, several of the guys that raced down there many years ago were there and a couple could barely walk any longer but they loved the cars!
