need blackberry, outlook, organization help

I am trying desperately to get more organized, but am running into some technology issues that I would have thought would be straightforward.

I have my email set up through gmail, and my inbox is shared on two laptops and my blackberry. Email is working great... my assistant can access my email and reply, delete, forward, save to folders.. same changes automatically take place on my laptop. Email is working great, in terms of how it synchs between my gmail, outlook and blackberry

My problem is with:

calendar: I can't seem to get my outlook calendar to synch with my blackberry calendar. Hell, I can't even seem to get my blackberry calendar to synch with my google calendar... which is where my email is routed. This is a MAJOR problem, because I need my wife and assistant to be able to view my calendar, and block out time.

tasks: in outlook, my wife or assistant can send me a "task" that is prominantly displayed in my outlook and serves as a great reminder for things I have to do through the course of my day. However, on my blackberry it just comes in as an email with text, and easily gets lost in the incoming tide of emails. They are useless on my blackberry, which is where I need them the most... reminders to do things whil I'm out & about

these seem like pretty straightforward things to get working right, but I am stymied. Getting these things working would have a HUGE impact on how organized I am (tasks and calendar for work), and on how much my business impacts my family time (calendar at home)

Anyone have this stuff set up and working properly?

I should add that relying on a manual synch from BB to laptop is NOT a solution... I need to be able to book things on my BB, and have them appear in my calendar.

Why use Outlook calendar if you got Google Mail?
Outlook calendar can't sync wireless with Blackberry BIS, Google Calendar can.

KB24204-How to enable calendar synchronization with a integrated Gmail email account

Your device has to be updated to OS5 for this to work

Awesome, thanks! I now have my BB calendar synching with my google calendar. I seem to be getting duplicates of appointments, so I'll have to do some debugging.

To answer your question, having it synch to outlook is important because that's where my wife and. my assistant access their email. Getting them to look at my calendar online is an extra step that's a PITA for my assistant, and just won't happen with my wife. We all use outlook, so I really want to keep things simple

Duplicates: might have to remove the manually synced outlook calendar.
Clear adress book db option in BB desktop mgmr or just wipe the device and set it up for gmail only from scratch.

Wife and assistant: I think there is a google connector for outlook..

Or you get them on google as well.. It's only 50 bucks a year per google apps aaccount and then you got more options to collaborate then regular gmail..

One nice feature: The post-it note feature on Outlook is also synched with the same feature on your phone.

So if you need directions, a shopping list, etc, just copy and paste it into an Outlook 'post-it note', and it is automatically on your phone. Works the other way too, from your phone to Outlook.

Aside: There are very few 'nice' things about working for a big high-tech company. But getting a phone, laptop, and other gadgets that are all 'pre-configured' and working is nice. So is a useful IT person on call 24/7.

I may not see the whole situation, but... Does your outlook sync automatically with your gmail calendar? It should. If it does, then they should create something on your outlook, that should sync with gmail, and it seems as if you have your gmail syncing to your BB, so you should be good.

There's an app that you can install on your PC that is running Outlook that will sync the outlook calendar to your gmail account.
