I've never had one. I know I've had the flu once.
I read an interesting article that said that dry air is good for the flu and humid sure is not (counter intuitive to my thinking). I've always lived in humid climates. I guess that's good. |
Didnt get one last yr. First time in yrs.
Came down with the flu. First time in yrs.. Will be getting one this yr. |
Nope here. Never have, doubt I ever will. Not needed...
|
No... I do not do shots if I can get away with it.
|
yup. today as a matter of fact. 3 years running, i do my wife doenst. she has been sick 3 years, and i may catch a mild cold.
she is coming with me. |
got it yesterday - free at work. I've had the flu a handful of times. I've gotten the shot for the past few years and had no ill effects (knock on wood).
|
I get one every year and haven't had the flu in a long, long time. (Knock on wood)
|
So, medical professionals. Almost all of you do not get the shot. My ex-wife also a medical professional also refused. Her stated reason was Guillain Barre Syndrome.
For the rest of the Medical professionals, what is your reason for not getting the shot? |
My wife's hospital about half the staff refuse the shot. Many question its effectiveness and the quality of the vaccine, plus GBS.
Many opt for tamiflu. |

Steve, it is not that humidity is bad for the virus, it is good for your mucous membranes. |
I've never had a flu shot and probably never will. I have a pretty good immune system so far. Knock on wood.
|
parents have been getting the shot every year for some time. and they always get a bad cold at some point over the winter.
i never get the shot. some winters i might get sick, some winters i dont. but i am not around those little petri-dishes you call children that much. seems all the parents around the office always take more sick days than us single types. brown bottle flu usually a bigger problem for me... |
I'm not getting one this year. I have only had 2 in my life and they where the first two years after the micro preemie came home.

Nope, not in a high risk group...

Nope, never have, never will. I hate needles.
We had a conference in January this year, someone brought the flu. It landed on 20-25 out of 100 people, I was one. I felt bad for a few days, but thought the strain was pretty weak. Never lost my appetite, and should have been working, but the office folk said, "Don't bring that stuff around here!". I don't know if there is any truth to it, but a few Dr's claimed it was the H1N1. One gentleman from Arkansas died, some from California reported they had never felt worse in their lives. I shake hands with people everyday, so I see a lot of germs. My immune system works fine. I suppose my great grand mother would roll over in her grave knowing needles aren't welcomed in these veins. She was a nurse in N.C., aiding thousands affected with the 1919 flu epidemic. |
Have gotten the shot every year since 75/76? Never had the flu. Last year was the first year I didn't get one. Since I retired and moved to FL last year, I haven't even gotten a sniffle. (knock on wood)

This is how the Zombie apocalypse starts.........Mayhem and anarchy
