You getting a flu shot

Well, yeah or nay

At department meeting today found out it is either get the shot or wear a mask in patient care areas.

slodave 10-06-2011 10:10 PM

Nope.

crustychief 10-06-2011 10:13 PM

I used to have to get them, I always got the flu (not from the shot ). I have not had one in three years and have not had the flu in three years.

Erakad 10-06-2011 10:15 PM

Already got it...and no, it won't make you sick! However, good hygiene works wonders.

livi 10-06-2011 10:26 PM

No, never had, never will. I am never sick. I suppose I get incubated with small doses of all kinds of viral infections on a daily basis, that I am in effect more or less immune to any bug thrown my way.

widgeon13 10-07-2011 02:13 AM

yes

gprsh924 10-07-2011 02:25 AM

No

jyl 10-07-2011 03:20 AM

Got my first ever.

Funny, but my wife and I were talking about this last night. I've only had two flu shots in my life and that was only because getting them happened to be convenient at the time. Her viewpoint is that getting a flu shot is an absolute requirement and my argument was that with or without one, an individual's chances of actually getting the flu were very small.

She accused me of "not caring"...

Jim Richards 10-07-2011 04:15 AM

Yep, last week. I've only missed getting a shot once in the past ten years. No flu during that time...knock on wood.

A930Rocket 10-07-2011 04:31 AM

Been getting them for years. No flues to date.

Halm 10-07-2011 04:45 AM

Got it earlier this week. They seem to work well for me.

Rick Lee 10-07-2011 06:04 AM

Never ever. I have had the flu once or twice as an adult, never had the shot.

red-beard 10-07-2011 06:07 AM

Yes. I get it every year.

stomachmonkey 10-07-2011 06:30 AM

Nope, never get one.

WIfe is a teacher so she does.

Kids get them.

1st I am absolutely petrified of needles.

2nd, I generally avoid taking anything unless absolutely necessary.

My wife refers to everything as "medicine".

If it does not cure the problem and only masks the symptoms in my book it's not medicine.

Same here, no shot

GDNF2ET 10-07-2011 06:41 AM

I never get one and am rarely sick...I attribute this to simply washing my hands alot.....Definitely not from eating right :D

Tobra 10-07-2011 06:46 AM

Mr Dayton, clearly you are a heartless monster due to your stance on this.

I have had the flu once in the last 25 years, got it from the flu shot I was forced to get, which they claimed was impossible. The next year, they again said I had to get the shot or I could not work in the clinic and would not graduate. To this I replied, "Not gettin the shot. If you prevent me from graduating I will sue you for the total of my investment in my education." They immediately caved.
