Coolest RV I Have Ever Seen

Saw this in town last week no one was around took a few pictures. Young Couple owns it and built it.

Looked up the Web Site very interesting you will need a translator (Google)unless you can read German.

The build and story is impressive the work is excellent.
They are touring the world in it. Funny Montana was not on the itinerary? what a place to have this ?

Reisenomaden

The web Site has inside pictures, the guy is a master fabricator.

I want one !

Well done! I'm not sure about the paint.

You see these regularly in Germany—so I'm not sure if this couple actually built it.
They are called "expedition vehicles". (Google them) Various manufacturers make them with Mercedes and M.A.N. being the most common.

People buy these things to go round the world or across Africa or Asia—on trips often lasting years at a time. They're basically indestructible military grade vehicles for personal use.

You can buy something like this well used for 100K Euro—but can spend as much as 500 or 600 K Euro for a really flash one.

One of these is on my bucket list.

Very cool! They fabricated that, it's documented on their website...

Yes. I stand corrected on this build.

Here's a German YouTube with some of these big boys.

Sand ladders! They must be expecting to spend time in the desert. But there's no winch on it.

I showed this thread to my wife, and now she wants to get one. :D

There's a huge winch on it. The winch is mounted in the frame if you look at the fabrication page of the website.

Very, very cool, but I'd take a 1200GS and a tent over that any day. I never really understood why people want to drag everything along with them on an adventure.

How are you going to impress the boys down at the Gulp 'N Go if you hide the dang winch? You need it out there on the front bumper along with a few yards of 1/2" chain.

DonDavis 10-11-2011 06:59 AM

That is very cool. Have you seen this one?

Think of it as a sailboat. Circumnavigating the globe. Only on land.
