Actually, I was talking about the Rolex service centers (Dallas, New York, etc.) as most dealers don't do much service work now and even the ones that do don't have the capabilities, tools and equipment that the Rolex service centers do. I haven't had a dealer do any work n a warch in over 20 years.

Back to the Cartier, I'd also throw it on eBay, as it's appears to be one of the Cartier Privee watches (I can't see enough dial detail to confirm that but the rest looks correct - does it have a silver guilloche dial and a saphire back?) and these are pretty rare. I'd want a large audience for this watch. It should sell better than a run-of-the-mill Cartier.

Just did a quick Google search and it seems you guys are correct. I'm guessing my AD probably doesn't want to mess with it. Honestly, I'm still not sure I want anyone opening up a brand new factory sealed $11+k Daytona and swapping parts. Will keep it as it is and just wear some damned glasses. Not going to complain about getting older.....beats the alternative!

Mike,

The watch is going to have to be opened up and serviced sometime. If its past 7-10 years MAX old, then its time. Stop by the various stores or look online and see what type of face you might like to try out and you might give it a try.
