Livi,

Get a crock pot and a book of Crock Pot recipes. You can make some very basic GOOD stuff and freeze it. I am in the middle of Pesto Making season. I am harvesting my basil, have the parmesan and the pine nuts and it will go together for about 6 quarts in an hour. And then I harvest the horse radish and that takes about an hour.

I also make my own bread and have done simple cheese as well.

Cooking is easy if you concentrate on the basics.

OK. I am printing out this thread now. Much obliged! :)

You should also google "three ingredient recipes" (or something like that).

I like to cook for my men and I like them to cook for me as well. I just don't like to cook for them when they EXPECT me to cook for them. Another thing... If they take care of me in other arenas, I'll cook all darn day for them! ;) and yes, learning to cook a great meal will win the chicks. You don't have to know how to cook fancy... Just enough where she doesn't have to every day.

That's my two cents coming from the chick...

Wow...you've seen the movie "Bullitt?"

Marcus, you need a life. Short days of winter are going to exacerbate the issue. Go somewhere warm where there are babes in bikinis. Do it right away, and don't post those scary food pictures or those Ode to Stijn music videos anymore!:eek::eek:

scottmandue 10-18-2011 11:30 AM

Dude... you are a PEDIATRICIAN... I can't think of any profession that would be more of a babe magnet!

Well... OK, maybe rock star or pro athlete...

But still, "you have not because you ask not"

RE: food, nothing better that cooking together... well... except for that other thing we do together. ;)

A woman went into a store to buy her husband a pet for his birthday. After looking around, she found that all the pets were very expensive.

She told the clerk she wanted to buy a pet, but she didn't want to spend a fortune.

'Well,' said the clerk, 'I have a very large bullfrog. They say it's been Trained to give blow jobs!'

'Blow jobs!' the woman replied.

'It hasn't been proven but we've sold 30 of them this month,' he said.

The woman thought it would be a great gag gift, and what if it's true... No More blow jobs for her!

She bought the frog.

When she explained froggy's ability to her husband, he was extremely sceptical and laughed it off! ..

The woman went to bed happy, thinking she may never need to perform this less than riveting act again.

In the middle of the night, she was awakened by the noise of pots and pans flying everywhere, making banging and crashing sounds.

She ran downstairs to the kitchen, only to find her husband and the frog reading cook books.

'What are you two doing at this hour?' she asked.

The husband replied, 'If I can teach this frog to cook.......you're gone.'

Markus step back for a moment. Remember why you became single? You can always find something to eat

BeyGon 10-18-2011 12:38 PM

I have been to a few cooking classes and they were mostly filled with divorced women, some were hot looking. I was with my wife.
That dish wasn't in any of my classes.

livi 10-18-2011 12:47 PM

Thank you all! As always a treat to let my shortcomings and sorrows out in this group of ladies and gentlemen. I will take all your advice to heart. Well, perhaps not all.. SmileWavy

Sorry, sorry, sorry...

patssle 10-18-2011 01:03 PM

So go eat out at a place by yourself, if you're confident enough to do that without worrying about what others think. Or find a friend.

A PB & J would taste better than that.....very easy to make too. :)

Oh Haha 10-18-2011 02:27 PM

Late to the game but....

When I was single I didn't eat much better but I could always count on Mom to prepare a meal when I went home to visit.

Here's another side to the story, though-you'll stay slim and trim for the ladeeeees. :D

Hang in there, Markus. I had just about given up all hope of finding a suitable lady after my divorce. When I stopped looking was when we met.
