The Station Wagon

We have lots of threads on various types of vehicles here -- off-road vehicles, UniMogs et al., Vanagons, SUVs, small SUVs, etc.

I thought we might have one on the station wagon - just a regular car -- or a sports car -- with no trunk and instead a long bed in back. When I was a kid, we called it the way back.

They can be utilitarian and reliable:

I'm told the BMW wagons handle better than the sedans (better wt. distribution).

I bought this in February as a work car that I keep in Memphis. 2001 Subaru Outback LL Bean. 3.0 liter flat 6 engine, 212 hp, AWD. GREAT stereo!

Normy with a flat 6? Stranger things have happened.

N!

I love my wagon. It took me two months to find a rear wheel drive manual sport package and I had to go to Pennsylvania to get it.

I'd kick infants for a new 556hp CTS-V. Lets hope for massive depreciation.

Good thread! I've had a few station wagons over the years but this one......

A perfect condition '69 145S...no rust.....original paint and interior.....stock except for SU carb upgrade!

Bought it on eBay for approx. $1,400.00!!! I was the 3rd owner. Sold it last year to a local guy who is a Volvo nut and 914 guy....but I always loved the 145's the best!

Love the bucket seats and 4 on the floor!

I get dogged by my boss because I like wagons. I would have a CTS-V wagon if I could afford it. Our 528 wasn't a rocket but we really liked it.

I really like my Protege 5. It's slow as anything but it is a hoot to drive.

Bob Lutz was on Wind Tunnel recently. What would be his choice of cars if he were only able to have 1 forever?

CTS-V Wagon!!!

We had a Volvo 960 wagon before these two, no pics though. I have many fond memories of riding in the back of grand pap's big old wagons as a kid.
